Clap-A-Long

Chasen's new favorite skill he has learned is to clap!
He does it all the time, it was super cute this morning I was singing to him (he is the only person I will ever sing for and once he old enough to make fun of me i will stop) and he started clapping along, we need to work on his rhythm, :)but he loves to clap.

He is becoming so much of an individual lately.

An individual with my fiery personality, he is so impulsive and cranky sometimes.
This morning he was standing up on his changing table (it is impossible to change him now with out him standing up once) trying to reach his cross, I kept taking his hand down (as I'm trying to get his diaper on while he is standing) and he would scream this deep angry scream and try to grab it.
I sat him down and turned him around and he screamed that scream again and started to grunt/cry, his face turning purple. I gave him the cross to see what he would do and immediately the treas stopped, smile on, face was pink.
Terrible two's???
no one warned me about independent 9 month olds!!!
What will I do when he can talk back?!?
He threw 3 fits like this while getting ready for school/work this morning.
He was upset when the baba was empty, When I had to put clothes on him and when I took the toy away to get in the car.
and tonight...

climbing up the slide

Throwing fit because he can't get up the slide alone lol

I shouldnt laugh, its not funny!!

I can't complain or be upset because Im just dealing with a shorter version of myself.
Honestly, I feel bad for Ean.
But Im sure he'd rather have a feisty boy then a feisty girl :)

He still isnt walking, which is okay with me. He is standing for longer periods of time ALONE usually clanking two blocks together.

"Yah, thats right Im Mr. Cool, I've mastered this whole standing thing"

He is also a very fast crawler and you cna hear him coming from a mile away!
In preparation for walking I ordered him those soft sole shoes and a pair of socks with rubber soles, there are really cool!

He is mostly eating real people food and we are almost out of baby food and I dont think we will have to buy any more!!
We are slowly weening off the baba.
He has been periodically drinking out of a sippy cup for a few months, he mostly just spills it, but a couple weeks ago I noticed he was really eating well form it so I told daycare this morning to replace one of his bab feedings with the sippy and we will go from there. He is really starting to get attached to the baba so I hope we have started the transition in time :0

big weekend ahead... Dada truns 28!! and he is spending his bday at a bachelor party. So Mama hired a babysitter for herself (Amy and Jesse) and they are going to have an at home party while I sleep :)

On the Farm

Tiny Tina had her baby (finally) this afternoon!!! She was still huge this morning and when I got home from work there was a BABY!
We didn't have time to catch it today so we aren't sure if its a boy or a girl, so be thinking of names

we have also had 4 baby goats that I didnt discover until today, they are about 4 to 7 days old :) (the bugs were bad so Chasen had to be behind the bug net)

This one is my favorite

these are the other two and the 4th on is all brown

of course we eat on the farm
and everyone has their own spot at the "table"

we got home Sunday night and let Chasen play on his new slide from cousin Tammie!
He loves it!!!

Just when I was excited about having more room because we put away the jumper lol

Usain Bolt Does it Again

9.58...that is freaking FAST!!! (incase your not up on your track and field news Usain Bolt ran the 100m dash in 9.58sec a new world record)

Today was a lazy sunday!
grammie was here and got up with Chasen, Ean and I slept till 9:45, I can't remember the last time we slept in past 7.
We had blueberry muffins before we went to church.

I didnt hear a word the priest said in church because we were of course in the cry room and there was a boy about 18 months and Chasen was in love with him (the love was mutual) they screamed, laughed, poked, drooled, Chasen would stand up to the wall and walk with him. It was hilarious!!
The rest of the day was spent folding and washing laundry! Yippie!
I did make egg plant parmasan, recipie compliments of great grandma Jan, and it was amazing!!
Here are a few of the family pictures we took while at great grandma and grandpas

A nostalgic Saturday

what a busy day it was,
we got up around 7am (that's the latest chasen has slept in in a looong time)
took Ean to the dump truck in CR so he could dump it at the dump (wow how many times can I say dump)...and it was quite dumpy... okay.
On our way back I decided to take hwy 100 to MV and around back by Cornell cause I haven't been that way in a loooong time. As we were approaching campus I noticed a bunch of cars and signs... It was moving in day for the football players!

I immediately was flooded with memories of my 1st day of moving in during XC pre-season, and was a little relieved I wasnt having to move all my stuff, and say goodbye to my family (that was hard), but was also a little sad that I would never get the chance to live with all my friends again (until we go the the nursing home;)) and a little scared for the day when I will have to drop chasen off at college. (which will be Cornell and he will come home every night for dinner! right!?)
Pre-season, Cross country and phi omega were some of THE BEST times of my life! I met my bestests of friends and the hubby of course :)

Since Chasen was born I have wanted to buy him some Cornell gear but the book store is only open during the week days, and I have a job. But today, they were open so Chasen and I marched up there with all the football players and their crying mommies (lol) and bought some gear! Then we went to the track for a work out and some really cute pictures
on your marks, get set, GO!

An All American perhaps!?

he'll have to learn that from his daddy :)

Chasen and I also went to the mall with Shelly and he played in the germ infested play area that I said I would NEVER let my kids play in, but he had so much fun and didn't die. I didn't have my camera and was totally regretting it because he crawled through the tunnel about 5 times and screamed at kids and laughed and crawled faster then I have ever seen! He made friends so fast, I hope he can keep it up. Looks like he wont be a quiet one like his dada. We ended our Saturday with an out door movie in Iowa city, The Wizard of Oz. It started at sunset so chasen was awake for about 5min total, and I fell asleep at the end, but the weather was perfect and we had a good time:)

aaaaannnnnd, we're back

So we have been busy,
where did I leave off?
Oh, Yes!
Chasen was never sick just an allergic reaction to amoxicillin. And I'm super pissed we went through all the pain of blood work for NOTHING!!!!
We had his 9 month check up he is
23.6 lbs 90%
2'6 95%
big, but proportionate boy!
Some of his new skills include:
doing squats, just yesterday he was squatting and stood up with out pulling up on anything ( i think we will have a walking baby at 10 months)
standing alone for short periods
saying mama (sometimes)
crying when he doesn't get his way
crying when mom leaves him at daycare (this one breaks Mommy's heart)
making fart noises which he learned to do on the car ride to great grandmas. at first he was just blowing and couldn't figure out he had to stick he tongue out. He turns bright red like he is pooping, its quite hilarious!

New foods include:
yogurt
cottage cheese
small amounts of cheese
crackers of all kinds
fresh fruit
cooked green beans and carrots
scrambled eggs
and great grandma sent us home with homemade apple sauce!
This is all so much cheaper then baby food, all though we are still giving him baby food meats and some veggies

This past weekend we went to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa on the farm in Axtell
Everyone got to ride bikes,
apparently I was quite funny to watch ride the dirt bike as i have no balance there is some video which will not be released!

By day #2 Chasen had figured the bike

out, he of course had to have daddy hang on to him but he figured out how to move his feet.

He really enjoyed all of great grandmas "toys"

including the water fountains, flowers, dogs. chimes, potatoes and dog dish!

It was a great weekend for everyone!!!
We also took some family photos but I will upload the good ones later!
here is my favorite

Time...

we measure it in several different ways, hours, weeks, days, minutes, months, years sometimes seconds, and its all supposed to make Time comparable.
But when I compare the last 9 months to

the 9 months it took to conceive Mr. Chasen or the 9 month that I carried him around,it just doesn't seem comparable at all.
Chasen has been out in this big world all on his own for 9 whole months and they have flown by, as fast as ever. Some of the moments in those past 9 months have drug on a slow as can be, like those sleepless nights, but comparatively they have flown.
I remember being on the clomid and getting my blood drawn every month for 9 months and that TOOK FOR EVER!
Being pregnant for 9 months, anticipating his arrival also felt like forever.
It is so hard to imagine that he has been out here in the world as long as he was in me!
The amount that he has changed in these past 9 months amazes me.
He now can crawl like a champ, he has mastered the art of pulling himself up to things and sitting back down with out falling over, he can stand alone for just a few seconds, yet when mommy is watching those are the longest 3 seconds of her life!
He can walk while holding onto something, the couch, table, or walker toy.
He uses different sounds and syllables for different things.
Kevin is a deep longer daaaa. Ean is dada. When he talks to other babies he uses a short soft da, a scream or he flaps his hands in excitement. and for me....he cries.
He has said mama twice, but its hard for him to get the mmmm out.
He can also fake cry and this is relatively new and cracks me up.
I could watch this video over and over.
Its the first time he has played with this toy and he is so intrigued by it.
Totally checking the whole thing over.
Its like hes working on something really hard and he goes away, comes back, thinks about it comes back to it, gets distracted and still comes back to it.

We are working on saying mama, waving bye bye and of course walking.
He weighs 23.6lbs
has 1.5 teeth
and Friday we will find out how "tall" he is!

Mysterious rash

We still aren't sure what the rash is and wont know till tomorrow.
We are going to send him to daycare anyway because he's not contagious, no fever, the rash doesn't itch.
It sucks not knowing whats wrong, and it looks so horrible, but I don't think its as bad as it looks.
The rash is fading to brown in some spots and he seems to have his energy as you can see in this video. Him and Kevin got to play their first game of tug-a-war!

here is a pic of his eyes where you can see the popped little blood vessels under his eyes for crying so hard during the blood draw.
Here is a video of Chasen banging a stick on his crib, then he stands ALONE.

He also said mama this morning!!!!!!
but he hasnt said it again since :/ but it did melt my heart!

Ean and I had fun yesterday floating down the river with our friends we did get our phones wet so we dont have phones till they dry out.
We were on the river from 10:30am to 6pm. it was a long fun day!!
