Port Washington, WI

Ean and I went on a one night vacation. we had been here before a couple years ago and loved it but we went in feb. and it was freezing!!! 

My mom was here to watch the boys for us :)

we got there just in time for our reservation...had to change in the car.. in true caskey fashion

we enjoyed a long peaceful dinner!! and tried to play the trivia cards but i suck!

after dinner we checked into our bed and breakfast and then headed out on the town. we had a beer at a bar and watched some of the world series and then they started playing music for karaoke ANND they had the music videos to go with it...we didnt have MTV/cable growing up(we had a creek to play in! and a dog! and the price is right;) ) so I had never seen most of the videos of the music from "our time" it was hilarious!!

there was no where to sit so we decided to head to another bar and it was almost dead. 

we had some wisconsin cheese ball (they are to die for) and finished the baseball game.

In the morning we had breakfast in bed...nice part about a bed and breakfast! we asked them to bring it at 7:30 -- ean thought he'd be up by then ...but he wasn't and I think the guy knocked a while because the breakfast was on the floor outside our door!

 

since we were up early we decided to walk down to the pier and go for a run...

it was beautiful out!! we didnt know which way to go and randomly picked the perfect path..

right to the beach.

it was so peaceful!

Ean and I both said we felt guilty the boys couldnt be there...but its only 4 hrs away so we will defiantly be back!

 

after our short run we decided to walk around the town ... get some coffee and Ean took me into a jewelry store and asked me to pick something out....

it was really special because we dont do things like that ever...last time we did that i got my engagement ring! He told me he wanted to do something nice for me and it was the sweetest thing ever. I found a really pretty necklace and had the lady wrap it up so he can give it to me for Christmas! 

we checked out and headed to a trail along the lake... AKA michigan ocean!

It was the most beautiful thing Ive ever seen! Perfect fall weather...fall colors and the sound of the ocean!

the path was on 90ft clifs above the water!

we felt really guilty the boys werent there :)

but ean enjoyed walking with out a monkey on his neck!

then we drove home! :) 

to us a 4 hr drive is nothing! so it was an easy one night get away!

I highly recommend it...beautiful!

Half Days With Chasen

Chasen has had 3 half days so far (i think)

on his first half day we went to the quarry in mt vernon for an "adventure"

 

I think they miss eachother all day!

they picked snail shells out of the moss

and took turns being the leader

Chasen spotted this camouflaged turtle 

he really wanted to take it home!

I got nervous when he was by the edge!!

our next half day we went to the pumpkin farm in Grinnell with cousin Nile!

It was a little cool and rainy but we were the only ones there and had the jumpy pillow all to our selves!!

 they burried chasen in the corn

and yelled at the turkey's...because thats fun!

 rode the tractor

 and fed the donkeys.;..dash literally got ate!! just a little bruised finger

 and chasen came face to face with a peacock!!

we were there for a few hours!!

Dash and I love to have Chasen at home.

His most recant half day he got to go to the play station with a friend! 

I just didnt tell dash ;)

we have been so busy lately I haven't updated about the boys much

but they are growing, changing, smart, sweet, ornery little boys!! 

If I had time I could write a shot story about each of our days

NEVER A DULL MOMENT!!

Colorado Trip: Garden of the Gods & Our Trip Home

after our race we went to Garden of the Gods

and the kissing camels 

got some great pictures of the boys climbing around!

after that we met up with uncle Terry and aunt Cheryl in manitiou springs and the boys went panning for gold and rode alllll (most) of the rides in arcade alley!

then it was back to the cabin to watch the huskers...and they lost. 

I blame it on all the iowa fans I was with ;)

we also got a pretty good caskey family photo! Dash was not too happy though but this is the only photo he isn't screaming in!

we were up early the next morning to head to my moms to get kevin!
we decided we would stop at 7 falls on the way home....we got lost on the way there...over shot our turn off by 45 min then figured it out, turned around and chasen said he was sick.
I yell at ean to pull over....are you sure....YES!!! i was out of the car before he pulled over
plastic bag in hand but i was a second to late...puke in the car :(
the whole trip and he got motion sick on the way home. this was the only time he did it though.
(if you remember dash threw up about 30 min into our 7hr drive home from Missouri this summer)
so we get to 7 falls....it's closed.....we wasted a good 2 hours and were no closer to my mom them when we started 2 hours before ;(
but we made it ... through a dust storm and some of the biggest tumble weeds ive ever seen!
It was a great trip!!
