it was a long winding road
it was so windy and freezing once we got to the top.
they say it 20 degrees cooler up there then where we wee staying.
I walked to the edge to get a photo before running to the car...it was so cold. and I could hardly breath!
there were so many lakes...resivores...up there
LOOK AT THAT ROAD!!!
I was scared!
a lake at the bottom of the mountain...it was so beautiful we had to stop to take a pic and let the boys throw some rocks!
chasen found a huge stick to throw
Dash and Daddy climbing rocks
Garin throwing rocks
:)
the next morning Ean and I ran a 5k
and Chasen, Dashtyn and Gain did a kids (quarter and half) mile....heheh:) who remembers the Im half your quarter fight :)
It was at one of the oldest pumpkin farms and founded in 1936!
Ean and I want to run a race in all 50 states and i think i better get the higher elevation states out of the way before im to old. IT HURT! felt like and elephant was sitting on my chest. i could taste blood and afterwards my lungs burned!!
but Im glad i did it :)
Dashtyn did the quarter mile with daddy- holding his pinkey the whole way
So proud!
there were lots of animals to see on the farm too!
Chasen and Garin did the half mile
the running boys and Grammy
after the race the kids got a ribbon which was their ticket to a free pumpkin...
the only catch was they had to be able to carry it themselves...a tradition from the 1930's
after the race we went back to town for some lunch and chasen ate rocky mountain oysters and he and Garin kept saying buffalo balls really loudly :)
after lunch we were off to garden of the gods for some rock climbing that led to some amazing photos!
