(the video is quiet because I was on the other side of the door.)
I can't wait till he is interested in running on runs with me and I can't wait to push him outside in the jogger stroller....if I can stand to push him, hes so BIG!!

The tables have turned
before it used to be Garin pushing around Chasen..... but now...
the tables have turned and although Chasen is younger by about 2 years he is almost bigger
I have a feeling the tables will keep turning and soon the parents of these two young cuties will no longer be in charge...

and that is a day Im sure we all fear!!
(these pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago during christmas)

Surgery Went Well
We got up at 4:45 Chasen was awake the whole way there and played when we got there, saw the pop machine got pissed and started crying, we filled out paper work
went back to a patient room where we put him in his gown.

He did NOT like the gown and took it off and proceeded to have his vitals taken by the nurse in his diaper only.
She left then he saw his diaper bag with sippy cup and went crazy!
He started screaming and when we hid it he ran over to the door hit it, hit hte sink, pushed over the trash can and proceeded to pick up and throw every single toy in the room, then he came over to me and just started bawling...
poor little dude was so upset and didnt know what to do.
We got his gown back on and the anesthesiologist came and talked to us and then she carried him back!
We went to a waiting are and waited... after about 15min I heard a baby cry, but knew it wasnt mine, it was the lady next door, about 15min later I heard a cry and KNEW it was Chasen, Ean and I switched chairs so I could hold him and we waited about 3 min, which felt like forever while I could hear him, and the Doc came in and said his ears were full of what they call "ear glue", super thick mucus and that his adenoids were very infected/swollen. so it was a good thing we did it because no antibiotics or chiro appointment's were going to clear all that up!
The nurse carried him in after that with the IV still hooked to him and the BP cuff around his leg.
He looked loopy and was really scared and angry. He cried for about an hour after they brought him back because of the anesthesia and he did not want us to let him go or stand up because he thought we were going to give him away again :/ that was a rough hour but the procedure its self didnt take that long.
He drank his milk right away so they were able to take the IV out, they did two more sets of vitals and then he was able to go home. It was much better when we put his own clothes back on and he knew we were leaving.
We got home and he ate and ate and drank 6 sippy cups of juice, milk, water, he peed and peed!
He would go in between being super crabby to super tired to really energetic!!
They just dont know how to relax at his age, the Tylenol kicks in and he is full force:) Then as it wears off he gets cranky.
He nose has been running non stop, but that is normal.
and you can tell his little throat hurts.
He stayed home with my mom yesterday and had a relatively normal day, he didn't eat as much as normal and slept more.
He has little red marks on his chest where the monitors were and on his face where they taped the tube :(
But over all I think he is going to be a much healthier happier baby :)

Smarty Pants
Chasen is learning so quickly, I only wish I could still learn things as half as fast as he does!!
Tonight I asked him to go get me a book: AND HE DID!
Then I asked him to get me the ball: AND HE DID!
He also flips through the books and tries to make goat noises and points at the goat and he also points at the pig and breaths in and out of his mouth really fast to try and make the 'oink' noise.
I mean, how does he know that's how you make that sound!!
Such a Smarty Pants!
He also knows what a phone is and will pick one up and YELL into it!!
I call it his yella-phone :)
The smarty pants can also put the right shape in the right hole(with a little help)
but when he can't get it to go in he grunts and grunts
and when that doesnt work he whines, cries and throws the shape or brings it to me to "fix"----reminds me of when I was in grade school learning long, okay maybe its was short, division. Minus the grunting...I dont think I grunted...mom?
He is also a Smarty Pants when he knows he is about to go do something he isnt supposed to and he will walk really fast while looking back over his shoulder to see if you are coming.....Like,
Thursday is his surgery.
We have to be there at 5:45 which means we will have to get up at 4:50... GROSS
They said that we can just bring him in his PJ's with his favorite balnket or bear. No parents in the operating room but he can have his blankie and bear.
They will infact put him under with the tube down his throat. I thought they were just using the gas.
That just toataly freaks me out that a machine will be breathing for him/helping him breath.
Sometimes I dont like being a mom...
From what I hear its not bad, but what if it is....
I actually have heard some bad things, but I know Chasen is a tough smarty pants so he will be good:)
And my mom is here thursday night so if he doesnt sleep or is in need of someone to sleep with him she can and we can get some sleep before going ot work the next day.
Im hoping the hardest part is getting up at 4:45, but I thinking the waiting will be hard.

So Thats How That Works...
I was home (almost) all day every day this weekend and my house is clean!!! Organized and I even hung some picture frames Ive been wanting to hang for, hmmmm about a year!
I guess to get stuff done you have to be home:)
Here is the "laundry room"
Its where our bedroom used to be. The washer and dryer have been in there for a few months but now its cleaned out and looks decant.
Its Chasen's favorite thing to watch the dryer

Peace and Quiet
The first pic was taken when he was 3 weeks old and the bottom one 14months old.
my how time flies.

we had an ice day yesterday, I drove into work, which wasn't so bad and then when I got there they were pulling the buses off the road so we decided to close.
The drive home was baaaad I saw 3 cars go into the ditch!!
And missed my turn into Light road even though I was only going 15 to 20.
Our power went out last night around 2:30 so I pulled chasen into bed with us to keep toasty, the power did turn back on(thank god) about 2 hours later.

My Head is Spinning
Chasen is changing daily at the speed of light every time I turn around he has learned or done something new.
His ever emerging personality is so much fun and a little overwhelming at times.
There is no reasoning with a toddler!!!
- He is 2'8 weighing in at 27lbs still has his chunky thighs which are extremely ticklish!! But, his face is thinning out and looking more like a boy then a baby.
- still no new teeth although one poked through and went back down, it has been quite the cranky battle with these teeth and I hear eye teeth are worse.
- He is sleeping through the night on a consistent basis (when he isn't sick)
- He can say "uts tat" (whats that) and he only says it when you are holding him and he points at stuff and whispers it in your ear its so cute
my mom and eans mom have both heard him say puppy when he saw smaller dogs and he says dahh for kevin.
- He is very good at shaking his head no and whining when you do something he doesn't like or put his coat on, put him in the car seat, lay him down for bed.... EVERYTHING gets a head shake.
- If you do something he likes he SHRIKES with excitement and its the best when he does it when I come to pick him up from daycare...warms my heart!
- he loves rocking in his rocking chair next to daddy while they watch tv
- He tries to mimic what we say, we are working on animal sounds
- and he is learning to eat with a fork and spoon
there is just so much going on!!!! But I have so much fun with him everyday!
Chasen has also had another ear infection after we stopped going to the chiro once or twice a week he got another one.
So we decided that it was best to go visit the ENT instead of paying to take him to the chiro 2x's a week, which would end up being twice as expensive and is a pain to take him that often.
After being evaluated by the ENT they determined that he indeed has fluid in his ears and they want to do tubes. We also talked with him about the fact that the kid has had a runny nose and cough since birth ( which did not go away after being adjusted at the chiro)and he said once they have him under they will look at his adenoids and probably take them out to!
I really don't want to put him under and struggled with the idea but I think in the long run it will be best.
His surgery is scheduled for Jan 28th and my mom is coming down the 29th to stay home with him although the Dr. said he could go to school the next day.(yes we call daycare school!)
So that's whats new with the little man.

Another New Years With our BFF's -1, + 2
The last couple of years we have made it a tradition to ring in the new year with Britton and Jordan and Kirsten. Unfortunately Kirsten couldn't make it but Marshall and Chasen joined the party which lasted 4 days!!
We got to spend 4 days in Kansas with them and they got a preview of what there life will be like in a few moths and I got to test out being a mother of two....and decided it would be best to wait until Chasen is 25 to have the second child ;] lol
Just kidding, but man it will be lots of work!
While Chasen was asleep we snuck in some pics of the boys together
and while chasen wasn't asleep he enjoyed playing in Marshalls bassinet.
If you asked him where the baby was he would go over to and rock it, or push it around the house, we joked that Marshall needed a seat belt!
"we should bunk our beds so we have more room for activities!!" (step brothers)

noooooooo I don't want a younger sybling!

but I do want his bottle
Chasen was being really naughty/a whiner and wouldn't do anything for Ean or I but then he sat on Brittons lap while she read him stories!

On NYE we watched the hangover and it took almost 2 hours or more because Britton and I kept talking and Jordan and Ean would get mad cause they couldn't hear and paused it till we were done! Hey we had a lot to catch up on:)
We stayed awake till about 11:30 when people started to fall asleep, I cleaned up woke Ean up at 11:59, Kissed and went to bed at 12:05. We left Jordan and Britton on the couch!

Jordan and Marshall on his first New Years!
chasen with uncle jordy on the miller lite chair. Chasen really liked that chair

Kissin my boy one last time in 2009!
