Best Play Date Ever at Witty Kitty

 I was adopted in to the north liberty play group. we dont always go ... twice a week probably and they always have fun ideas...who knows maybe Ill come up with something clever soon!

so we went on a play date today at witty kitty, i didnt look into it much and just figured we would get to pet cats (which we did)

but when I pulled in there were llamas, donkeys, and a horse.

first we saw these big kitties!

then she walked us up to the house and there were several gates and pens first with rabbits and lizards and a small tortoise 

then the bigger tortoise. Dashtyn would not sit on him

then she said they had some gators and Im thinking small little baby like things...

oh no...

it was a HUGE one living in a back yard in iowa!!!?!!

they put him in a big pool in the heated garage in the winter.

just crazy!! :)

then the kids started walking down a big hill toward...

a BEAR!! we all started saying..wait keep your fingers back!!

I GOT TO FEED A BEAR A CARROT!!! 

(dash was to scared)

his favorite food is actually marshmallows!

he is 23 years old and they got him from a petting zoo in iowa that closed

he even has his own tree house!

I want to bring him home with me!

then it was off the the reptile/snake house...

dash and i stood out in the rain

Im terrified but used the zoom to get pics of our friends!

I told dash to go in but he didnt want to!

look at that sick grey thing!!! from africa, i think.

I can't believe this place is right here in my back yard (sorta) 

so cool and can't wait to take ean and chasen some saturday.

Last Weekend: Apples and Boater Initiation

I worked friday night, which was actually nice. I like to go!

on Saturday after I woke up we went to the apple orchard!! 

it was back to school weekend but it had rained before we went so the tractor wasn't going :( 

off on an apple hunt!

we picked 3 different kids of apples and ended up with 7lbs

of course we had apple cider donuts and apple cider slushies!

opps!! the basket was to heavy!

Grammy came over saturday after supper, she missed an intense game of soccer between me ean and chasen.....I ended up kicking the winning goal!! 

Since grammy was here Ean and I went on a date to the wine bar in mt. vernon it was nice to only be gone from them a few hours and them come and snuggle them!

on sunday after church we changed, loaded up and went boating

it was our first time alone so ean and i had to do it all!! 

we got in the water just fine and i even pulled the truck and trailer out

So we boated for a couple hours...I even drove

and we swam

then decided it was time to go eat and we started to dive and herd a huge "clank" and the boat quit running and we couldnt get it started. we were right across from our boat dock but the waves were pushing us to the opposite shore....it was HOTTTTT and humid. we sat for a bit before i decided to try and wave someone down...but they just thought i was waving ....

after a LONG 45MIN ("mom will we be stuck here forever?!") someone finally stopped and towed us the 50 yards up into the sand next to the dock....there were 3 boats tryin to get off the water and people waiting to get in...so we anchored it and left ...ate went home took a nap and came back at 7 to get it out. there was on person there, perfect.

got in the water and pushed the boat over to the dock then ean went and got the truck and backed it down. The one guy who was there came down to help us get it on the trailer. as he was walking down he slipped and fell :( and this should have been our sign things were gonna get bad.

so we got the boat on pulled out and the guy left...ean then realized the boat needed to be carnked up farther so we backed it back down and canked...got it out and were putting things away when i noticed it was crooked!!! 

backed it back in the water -- its dark now-- got in the water pushed it till it was on straight started to crank it up and the rope BROKE. it effing broke!!! 

so we pull out and thankfully ean had ratchet straps galore in his truck and we tied it down...and were home by 9 ... on a school night. that was no the plan.

The kids were with us through this whole ordeal!! 

but it actually went pretty smooth.

Dashtyn and I have been doing some fun things during the week and Chasen is having a good time at School! 

Swedburg Farm

before school started we headed to my grandparents farm for a weekend of fun!

(up early and ready to go!)

one of the first things the boys did was get in the pool!

and shoot water guns

dash "helped" Lily learn how to back float ;)

and of course they chased after and caught huge frogs!

my grandma grows beautiful flowers and we always take family photos in her garden.

below are her English roses that don't actually grow in the mid west....but she can get them to grow!

gator rides are a favorite

and picking and eating grandmas gapes!

every summer grandpa measures the kids! 

dashtyn is an inch taller then chasen was when he was 2 1/2!

 

we also celebrated my mom and ean's birthdays so the boys got to ware the special shirts i got them!

we enjoyed the sun

and the perfect weather

and an amazing dinner...prime rib, baked beans, cheesy potatoes garden fresh tomatoes and cucumbers!

after dinner we sat and watched 2 storms roll in over the corn fields!

it was the perfect weekend with family before school started!
