Picking up on the things we say

chasen was being quiet and I wondered where he was so I yelled for him
and he says
"whats up"
I said, "what?"
he says "Whats up mama"

We went out to eat with my friends tonight and as we were leaving I was trying to get the suburban out of our parallel parking spot and its out of steering fluid so it was really tough to turn I finaly got it out and chasne goes:
"gret job mama, you did good!"
I love that he is so encouraging:)

Chasen: "whats dat oder dare" (over there)
Me: "a horse trailor"
Chasen: "thats right mama, your right!"

Kevin barks whenever someone pulls into our driveway and lastnight brad dropped of ean and Kev was going crazy and hen I hear Chasne say
"Tevy whats your problem" "Tevy stop whats your problem"

Then he was running around teasing kevin with his cookie and tripped and fell hard and hit his head on the corner of he couch, which is softish, had he hit it on the table we would have had our first trip to the ER.

R.I.P. Rusty

Remember Rusty, the male goat we got that had a bright blonde mow-hawk, then he got his horn stuck in the fence and it almost fell off so we had to surgically remove his horn, (which resulted in the picture above where he is doped up on sedating drugs)
then he became our one horned goat with a mow-hawk!
And produced several mo-hawked kids.
Then in the spring in the spot where the horn was removed he got maggots and I was pregnant and really queasy and had to clean it out because Ean was to much of a wussy to do it.
Well, he died yesterday morning (well, probably over night)
Ean found him on the ground by the gate :(
We've had him for 3 years and I'm assuming Ean's uncle had him for a few years before that so I'm guessing he was 6 to 9 years old.
Ean said he looked skinny and probably died form old age or a sickness or a combination of the two.
He is one of the last few left that we actually named.
There is Roger and Charlotte left. I guess we should name some of our new kids!

well, not much else is new here, apparently Im on a goat posting trend!

My last day of work was today and it was just...weird, sad, but defiantly felt like I was ready to begin my new chapter with Chasen!
Right now I don't feel like Ill like my new job, but I think its just me being...well Me, Im just not excited to go work there, Im nervous to meet a whole new group of people. It took the group I work(ed) with a while to get used to me ;)and now I feel like I wont work with people as good as them.
But, next week I work Tue, Wed, Thur all 10p to 6a so if you dont hear from me its because Im adjusting to my new sleep schedule!
ahhhh!
Tonight a bunch of my Phi O gal's from college are coming over so Im glad to have that as a distraction
and
Im so so excited to get to be with Chasen, I know he has so much to teach me and I can't wait to have him as my boss!!
after that it will be part time-- thank goodness!

Not a Good Week

This is my last week at work and the week that I find out that Im not pregnant.
I say that Im not because all tests have been (-) so far and I should get my period any day now.
I HATE this waiting game, I just want to get my period so I can be done thinking about this failed cycle and move on to the next one. That will most likely be another failed attempt. I feel the cramping, Im sure its gonna be one of those awful periods where I get hot flashes and puke. ugh.
I spend the 3 or so days before my period agonizing over what is wrong and why nothing seems to work and being upset after each (-). But its like an addiction, I can't not take a test, I just can't I have to know.
I really thought IUI was our answer. But now I don't know.
We will have our 3rd IUI in mid march. I just never thought I would say that. I never thought it would get this far and Im sure it will go further.
if this IUI in March fails we will be onto the 3 months worth of IUI's with injectable medications before we are fortunate or is it unfortunate enough to do the big IVF.
I really don't know how IUI with injectables works, but I will be asking at my apt in march. I know it involves obviously expensive hormones that I will have to inject in to my butt on my own cause I don't think ean could do it with out passing out lol and it involves follicle tracking with ultra sounds which means more appointments which means I might have to take off work and how do you take off work at a job that you just started and you only work 20hrs a week and how do you explain to complete strangers that your sorry for starting a new job and not telling them of your "medical" problems but hey I didn't think you would hire me if I did. Plus you wont see it as a medical problem, you'll see it as unnecessary treatment for something that should just happen and tell me to just relax, and have you tried this, well maybe you should......
slow down.....deep breath......
oh, and its my last week at work which on top of my sadness of not being pregnant, Im sad about that.
my emotions are on overdrive and Im overwhelmed.
at least Im not as bitter as these people http://stfuferts.blogspot.com/
that makes me feel good!
I mean I understand what these people are feeling but I would never be mad at a friend or family member for posting facebook pics of there ultra sound, yah it might make me sad for myself but I would never want to take that joy away from someone.
In fact, I can guarantee that when I get pregnant I will post that sh*t all over facebook!

The ABC's of Chasen

* some of you get this emailed to you when I update it. And I was working on it this morning and forgot to close it and then Ean accidentally posted it when he was on the computer at like 9 this morning...oops!*

Absolutely Amazing
Boy ALL BOY.
the other day he made 2 leggo guns and they looked alto like guns and came into the kitchen shooting at me. I don't think he even knows what a gun is because I asked him "what is that" and he said "I dunno, pew pew" its in his blood
Cuddly
Determined
Empathetic
"mama you otaky? I give you hug" while saying that he is patting/rubbing my knee, then he hugs me and pats my back. so sweet.
Fearless
Gassy
and every time it catches him off gaurd and he looks at his butt and says "i tooted"

Helpful
Independent
"i do it myself" I help him off the stool so he doesn't fall and he has to climb back up to get off of it by himself.
Joyfull
Kissable
Loving
Meticulous the way he organizes shoes, trucks and his animals comes to mind
Naughty
Obedient--- not a chance
Observant-YES-
Polite at times
Quizzical
"whats dat oder der?", "whose Dat" and he is always saying what when he means where. It really annoys me lol. Ill be like look at that tractor and he says "what"

Refreshingly Rowdy
Smart
I told him that he would be staying home with mommy everyday and that he might not see nanny and papa as much any more and ever since then he has cried every day when I pick him up and I asked him why he didn't want to go home and he named everyone at his school and said "i miss dose duys" :(

Tough
when he falls off the stool that I tried to help him off of (see: independent) he says "thats why we get help" (see: smart)

Unique
Vibrant
Wild
Xenophobe
he has a fear of strangers but not people strangers more like strange figurienes or statues. He calls them "little duys" my aunt has a firurine of a little man who has his hands cuped up by his mouth and it freaks chasen out so much that its been months since he saw it and he still talks about it "dat lil duys gonna get you"

Yeller
Zealous (see vibrant) I ran out of ideas!

The Snow is Beautiful

but Im glad to see it go.
we went home a couple of weekends ago and it was warm enough to play outside in the snow for the first time this winter.

we climbed the bank down to the creek and walked around on it.
Here is Jackson and Chasen coming down while mom and Ean wait at the top

I climbed up the other side of the bank to take pictures of the way the snow had formed from all the blowing.
then we headed home:)
we also did some sledding and the snow had such a thick layer of crust on it that chasen didn't even make a dent!

~ The Season of Change ~

Things are changing around here.

Its hard change,
much needed change,
long time coming change,
exciting change,
change that makes me really nervous.

Change, is good!

Some of you know, some of you don't but things around here are gonna change big.
Im quitting my job to stay at home with Chasen and to work part time at the mechanicsville nursing home evey other weekend 3rd shift! whew!

Its been a hard decision to make and lots of thought has been put into it.
I know for some it seems really sudden but Ean and I have been talking about it since I got pregnant with Chasen.
and I think we were both really scared how we could afford for me to stay home so we just waited and then we thought, okay, lets wait till we have another baby then it would make sense, paying for 2 kids in daycare would eat up most of my income anyway.
Well, that doesn't see to be happening very fast at all.
So one random weekend a month or so ago I applied at 2 places solon and mechanicsville. Whith the thought that if it works out its meant to be.
And, it did!
Mechanicsville wants me:) and its only 15min from my house!

It really is such a big decision.
I mean Im doing what I want, great!
But what about chasen, he loves nanny and papa, so in that respect there is some doubt.
and to make it even harder DHS came to review them and said
" I would have to say that I think you are running one of the best child development homes I have seen. You have the perfect example of what child care is supposed to be in Johnson county."

we did discuss tonight (nanny and I) that chasen could be part time 1 day a week for $30 or whenever Ean needed to drop him off while I'm sleeping. They usually don't do part time but she said Chasen is like the family so she would do it for us:)

I've researched several activities, swim lessons, friends I know who stay home and my church has a moms group on Wednesdays, and Cole library does story time every Thursday morning. But I have a feeling we wont need to leave the house to often, with the built in petting zoo, pool, endless amounts of running space and the swing set daddy promises to put up this spring!

I'm so excited to start planning my days with him, I know ill need structure and a schedule so we don't just watch mickey mouse and lounge in PJ's all day.
I've bought paint for the room up stairs across the hall from his room, the room that has the trains in it, with plans to paint it and clear it out in the next 2 weekends and make that our school room complete with an easel, dry erase board and parts of the wall will be painted with chalk board paint. and we are going to go buy art supplies this weekend!!
Im focusing so much on what I'm going to do at home with him that I sometimes forget that I'm also starting a new job, which really freaks me out because I hate meeting new people, being the new person and learning a totally new place.
Not to mention I'm a little scared that I will be the person in charge.
It will just be me and 2 CNA's on 3rd shift. And that's it. yikes!!!
at least I get to train for a while, but YIKES!
AND
with this new job will come a new sleeping pattern, on the few days that I do work I'm going to have to go to bed at 2pm and get up at 8pm put chasen to bed kiss Ean and go to work by 10pm then get home at 6:30am and hopefully fall asleep!

Oh, and then there is the whole getting pregnant thing, which hasn't been on my mind much at all so I'm hoping that helps.
since I'm staying home with chasen my "clock" isn't ticking and I don't feel like my time to say home with my child(ren) is running out. This way I feel like if I don't ever get pregnant or if it takes 5 years I'm (kinda) okay with that because I'm not missing out on the opportunity to stay at home!

so bring on the change!!

Every Day Love

Ean and I didn't do much for valentines day this year. We went out to lunch on Sunday then to walmart.
Tonight weare going to dinner at sutliff with the little man, and exchanged cards and gave Chasen his gift which was a Buz lightyear blanket and Ean got me flowers!
Then after munch-kin goes to bed we will crack open the bottle of wine we bought on our trip and watch a movie.
It's just an every day kinda day:)except for i dont have to cook!!
I did reminisce about our past valentines
2008 Katie and Kevin
I do miss her
2009
Chasen's first valentines daythat was the year kevin ate all the cookies!
not this year Kev, Im on to you...
and last year I was professing my love for the fat bald man in my life
and ya know, most of that is still true except for he is not fat anymore or bald but he still has incontinence issues and bad table manners:)
Im referring to Chasen in-case you needed me to clarify ;)

Last night Chasen was eating dinner while I was getting his valentines together for his party at school and I showed him one of them and he goes "Shrek!" and then I told him, "these are for you friends at school! You get to hand them out at your party!" and his whole face lit up and he squealed with excitement!
I under estimated him, I thought he would be mad and not want to share, but he did!
My heart swelled, thats what valentines day is about now, he is such a sweet good (at times) little boy!
This morning I got to watch him put them in their valentines day baskets, it was so cute:)
and then he broughgt home a bunch of candy

that i will be using as potty training bribes in a couple of weeks!!

Chasen Describes the Rodeo

this is chasen's account of the rodeo.
he often doesn't make sense but he sounds just like the announcer and then he will say things like "they went home" referring to the horses or cows running back to their pen.
he uses his fingers on his palm bouncing up and down to show the horses and bull jumping
and when he clenches his fist and looks like he is seizing, i think hes interpreting the cowboys holding on
and we think that he is referring to the bit in the horses mouth when he puts his wrist/arm in his mouth and breaths hard.

its a longer video so if you can't watch all of it make sure you watch from 1:07 to about 1:57 at that point he tries to make a weird noise and chokes

its hilarious!!!
and the funny part is that he has told his story of the rodeo at least 5 different times and its always the same!

February 11, 2011

The Rodeo

I forgot to post about the rodeo!
Chasen had just woke up from a nap and was not happy.his face looked like that for a really long time on the hour long drive there lol

The first thing we saw was bronc riding
and the third guy got hung up on one of the ropes and they couldnt get him free and the horse drug him around until his pants fell off!
It was NOT funny. I stopped filming because I was scared he wasn't gonna be okay, but no worries he got up and was just fine.

steer wrestling

Calf roping -- what you don't see is the guy coming out of the shoot on the horse and roping the calf, hen he gets off the horse to tie up the cow.

team calf roping

barrel racing which I used to do with Queenie:)

and bull riding

we ate lots of popcorn and had so much fun! definatly worth the trip!

Weird!!

I have a CNN ticker on my home page and noticed this story today
11-11-11: How to get the coolest birthday for your baby

Grifo's answer: A woman who conceives February 18 will have a November 11 due date, provided she has a regular 28-day cycle. But of course conception is not an advanced science. Since cycles vary and most pregnancies aren't exactly 40 weeks, conceiving a child anytime in the next week or two could get the coveted 11-11-11 digits for your little one. here is the link to the rest of the story if you want

The reason I find this so interesting is that we went in for our second IUI this morning and I hadn't even thought about that!
I did think about the fact that if I get pregnant there is a really really good chance that it will be due on Chasen's birthday since this is almost exactly when we conceived him!
I have no feelings on this attempt, I've just kinda put it aside as something I can't control and I'm just letting it go.
Its taken me 9 months to just let it go, and its such a great feeling, a freeing feeling:)
maybe its the weather change, maybe its other changes, maybe its just time. who knows
That's not to say I don't think about it, I do, everyday, probably a couple times a day actually, I'm just not obsessive and upset about it any more.
Plus recently I've have other things to focus on!!

February 9, 2011

This past weekend we went home to visit my family and celebrate the February birthdays!
and on Saturday night we went to the Groundhog prom!

a what?!?!
well let me tell you =)
about 20 or so years ago this couple was like man there is nothing to do after the holidays we should plan an event and his wife was like, well Ive never been to prom so they decided to invite a few friends over buy prom dresses and tuxes and they had prom.
The next year there were about 30 people and the next year there were 100 so they moved it to a church hall and then some years later there were 1,000 or so people so it moved to Sokol Underground in Omaha (a place where many concerts are held)
Its not just prom dresses its kinda like Halloween and many dress in drag!
It's also very political. This year they recalled the Queen for no good reason at all just to poke fun at the mayor of Omaha getting recalled.
The people who started it are older now, but they get to pick the Queen of groundhog prom!

My aunt and her friends have went for several years, I rememberer being in high school wishing I could go.

And this year we got to go! We got to go to prom together:)
Ean was Lenny Kravits
and my sister and I were this!not sure what you want to call it, Mardi Gras the color purple and red, whatever!

my aunt and her friends were a SNL skit! The one with Lawrence Welk and the sisters and the one sister has little doll hands.
If you haven't see it you should hulu Lawrence Welk SNL skit!
some ladies in red or men or???

a somewhat political costume "I hope they dont find a terrorist in my but"

my favorite costume was the jelly fish, but i bet it sucked to carry that around all night
of course kevin had to try on the outfit

February 3, 2011

Mmm Mmmm Good!

We ate so much good food in Nashville!
Lots of BBQ, fried pickles, and Fried greet tomatoes which were delicious.
I even tried shrimp on top of garlic cheese grits, but didn't like it very much. The shrimp was good, but I guess I'm not a fan of grits.

We accumulated a bunch of glasses too, and not to our knowledge!
The first restaurant we ate at was the Wild Horse Saloon and we purposely ordered drinks that came in glasses you can keep!
Then at the BB King Club we ordered tall beers because it was a better deal and unbeknownst to us we got to keep the glasses!
Each restaurant had live music which we all really enjoyed!

At some point on Saturday while walking all around downtown we decided to stop in at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville and listen to the band play while we shared on of theseand again, surprise, we go to keep the glass and didn't even know it!
We also enjoyed the carriage ride and Chasen enjoyed the dog Annie. The horse we rode is the biggest horse "working" in downtown weighing in at 2700lbs!
we rode by the country music hall of famewhich is built in the shape of a music note and the windows look like a key board!
After that we walked to one of the world's largest pedestrian bridges. It goes over the Cumberland river and I think you can walk to the Titans stadium from it>The weather was pretty nice, in the middle 60's which is so much better then a high of 7 degrees!

A Blizzard For Groundhogs Day

First of all I need to say happy birthday to my grandpa,
HAPPY BIRHTDAY GRANDPA!!!

I must say I have seen bigger drifts out here and allot more snow. But it was still allot and there was still now way of getting any where.

before we (I use the term we very lightly here;0)plowed the drive

and after

isn't he so manly on that tractor in cover hauls with my nice cream scarf blowing in the wind:)
we literally had to dig the goats out! lol
I dont know why it drifted like that.
and the pregnant goats and calf are now locked in the heated shed, which it's a good thing ean did it a couple days ago or they would have had snow drifted all up in their little "house"
look really closely at this one. Super cool!a view out the kitchen window
no picnic's for a while
while ean was doing that
I was doing this
and chasen was doing this!
oh and we finished something....

chasen now has his own room!! and the ceiling fan has a remote control and it controls the temperature. It has a heater in it!
And all of this means that we have our own bedroom too!!! after 2 years or so. But whose counting...

one more drift

pics of our room later.
