~ there is a shortage of canned pumpkin and I think I have the only can in my kitchen. (its from last year)

~ Chasen is getting 3 teeth in on the top!

~ I mowed the lawn in about an hour today, THE ENTIRE LAWN!!!

~ I have a new front (side) door!

so I went to the grocery store today after a much needed dinner date with Amy sans chasen! And I was mostly going to buy several cans of pumpkin because I wanted to make a no-bake pumpkin cheese cake and some pumpkin cream cheese for my bagels.
So I look for a long time for pumpkin and finally ask a guy and he told me if I wanted it I would have to go to Canada, I thought he was being a smart ass so I said okay is walmart going to buy my ticket. He said no, really there is a shortage the crop was bad...? but I see baking pumpkins all over, is there a difference in baking pumpkins and canning pumpkins? I'm confused and sad about no canned pumpkin so i must choose wisely what I use my one can for that I have in the cupboard.

I was tickling Chasen upside down today and noticed that he has 3 teeth coming in. I knew the top middle left one was in and the middle right was almost in but his side right one is also coming in OUCH! ouch for everyone ;)

I got to use our new mower today and I'm in love, it steers with a joy stick and its a little touchy so Im sure it was funny to watch me figure it out.

Chasen sat in his stroller and watched daddy put in our new front (side) door now we wont have snow in our dinning room this winter :)

sometimes i can upload photos and sometimes I cant. Whats up with that??

we were at a friends house that was set up like a circle (we dont let chasen run around our circled house because its not child proof) and he RAN.

He continues to pick up books and read to himself. I think it is the cutest thing ever, makes me so proud!!

WHAT ABOUT THOSE HAWKS!!! we watched the game at a friends house and had a great time. Now the Hawks are #13 woah!!

and the Huskers, ya they won 55 to 0 :)

My Crazy Kid

Wow, so I never did get around to posting about the hawkeye game last weekend. It was Chasen's first tailgate we hung out at the Seaba tailgate for a while then went over to hang out with our friends and Chasen slept until grammie came to get him! This week has been cRaZZZZZZy! Even since Chasen has started walking I can't get anything done! He is most happy outside so we spend allot of time right when we get home outside. even though he sneezes and is allergic to god knows what lol Last night at some point on our excursion through the jungle known as our front yard Chasen fell into or crawled through some doggy doo! I didn't notice until we were in the house and I was holding him and something smelled awful! It was all over Chasens knees. I suppose goat poop is next?!

This week I didnt get a single thing done around our house, I didnt even do dishes till lastnight! We went out to eat tue. for Birttanys bday then went out to eat wed. with pep and kasi since pep is leaving town for 22 days. Thursday night was dedicated to TV, Greys anatomy and Flash Forward. So it was a busy week!;)

Chasen has started to read books! Thursday night while we watched TV he sat on the couch and read his I play sports for nebraska book! It may have been upsidedown but he was flipping through the pages and talking :)

This weekend we are just hangin' around home and ean is putting in our new front door!!!! (granny be sure to let grandpa know!)

Can you believe Chasen will be 11 months old next week.

This is what Chasen thinks about the game and the refs.

sure we didnt do very good on offense ( i was thrown up my bones for the defense, and they did awesome!)but there was a holding call on us that cost us a touchdown and when VT was holding BAD on their last touch down, no call.

at least their, VT's coach, had some good things to say about us
"I think you give Nebraska credit. People thought I was blowing smoke when I said they were back, but I think they are back. That is a tough way for those guys to lose, but I really believe they are back on course and are going to be a factor in the Big 12.”
That makes me smile a little :)

according to our little bet/saying we had going Chasen is officially a Hawkeye.
Ever since the weekend he was born both teams have won, until this past sat. where the Huskers lost by 1 pt. ;{

But I maintain that he is every bit a husker!
I mean look, he looks just like little red ;)

also this weekend my BABY brother went to his freshman homecoming

More Walking

here he is on the go outside!
Wow, this walking business is a whole new world.
He just really started walking on Sunday so I thought it would take a while before he really got the hand of it.
Oh NO, I was wrong.
Just yesterday he was still mostly relying on crawling, but today I brought him home and he walked mostly everywhere.
And its so much faster then crawling, and Im not ready!!!!
Tonight he walked from the living room to the dinning room where I was sitting at the computer, then I turned him around he walked into the living room past ean all the way over to the stairs so Ean and I followed him and he crawled the entire way up BOTH flights of stairs. HOLY COW!!!!
We WILL be finishing child proofing this weekend.
Our top of the stairs gait got here yesterday and the really long one (8 feet) should be here next week sometime to block off the entry way between the living room and stairs/computer room.
even though its overwhelming and busy, busy. I LOVE watching him walk it is so cool:)

and neither does kevin. HE ran away when Chasne started to walk really fast toward him. It was like he was thinking what the hell, how did he do that lol

weekends past..

Labor day weekend we went to NE for the Husker game! (im a huge band nerd and loved marching band and was super excited when they announced there were over 500 band members playing at half time because they had a bunch of alumni playing!)

then entrance to our seats where grandma has had tickets for a long time!

Saturday morning we got to see uncle Jackson play in his first high school football game!!

and Saturday night we went to the husker game
It was the first time I had been to a night game, it was really cool.

The huskers beat FL Atlantic 49 to 3

post game with my husker beer can that they stopped selling in Nebraska so we had to get it in Iowa (props to Iowa!)

This weekend we stayed home and watched the Hawks beat Sate.
grammie baby sat while Ean and I watched the game at Scorz.

The 12 step program.

Its really simple actually, just put one foot in front of the other twelve times.
Thats what Chasen did today!!!!!

HE REALLY WALKED!!

He has been taking a couple steps here and there then this morning he took 3 steps toward the cords by the TV upstairs. 3 steps doesnt sound like much but there was nothing around for him to hold he just started walking!

This afternoon after his nap I was using the hand held vacuum and he walked from the long couch to the love seat which was 12 steps!!!
Yes, I was counting!
He did this twice. Each time walking toward something he shouldn't have.

I can't believe my 10 month old baby is walking, coincidentally the baby gates I ordered should arrive tomorrow!
Our lives are about to change again. :)

I of course have tried really hard to capture this on video but have been unsuccessful. I will keep trying though!a

Poor baby also has an ear infection, we are going to the doctor tomorrow morning bright and early. The lymph node behind his right ear is swollen (you can see it) and he is cranky and keeps hitting the right side of his head.
Poor little dude.
I think its a combination of teething and allergies, lots of snot and drool draining.

Dada gave Chasen a pen he thought was closed and he drew all over the couch...
wont be the last time, but at least I know how to get rid of it :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

To Ean and Chasen!!
Ean turned 28 on saturday and Chasen will be 10 months tomorrow.
Im not sure what Ean did for his birthday...
One: because I was drugged up on pain meds and muscle relaxer because I hurt my back and was in a lot of pain or in a foggy haze from the meds
TWO: because he spent it at a bachelor party on Saturday from noon till 3am and didn't come home Sunday till noonish because he was so hung over lol
So we didn't celebrate as a family until Wednesday when I was feeling okay enough to cook a dinner and make a cake!
I got Ean a raclette fondue grill for his birthday

you grill food (we had shrimp, fish, chicken and zucchini) on the grill in the pot in the middle you can do cheese or chocolate fondue (we had chocolate with pound cake and bananas) and underneath you have little trays where you can toast bread and melt cheese! YUMMY!

So you are probably wondering where Chasen was over the weekend with Ean being drunk amd me being on drugs (we are good responsible parents I swear!)
He had a mini Vacation and got to spend Sat. night at Grammies and all day Saturday with Aunt Trista, Uncle Chris and his cousin Garin. I think he had a ton of fun on the Schaffner farm!
Thank you ALL for helping us out, there is no way I could have watched Chasen.

and here he is the 10 month old himself....he new thing is to stick his hands out when he wants something. And he does it all the time because he wants everything, and since he can't say "have it" or "mine" he sticks his hand out.

Tis' The Season...

I love crunchy leaves!

We leave Friday for Nebraska!
Sat morning we are going to Jackson's high school football game. That will be weird, the last time I was in those stands was probably the last football game of the season my senior year (7 years ago)!
Then Chasen is off to spend the day/night with grandma and his great grandparents, and cousins ava, and lily in Columbus. While mommy and daddy tailgate, go to the game then party with Ann and Jason.
We will all meet up in Columbus Sunday morning to celebrate great grandmas birthday at the Columbus horse races, and then we will head home Monday

all we need are some crunchy leaves to complete the perfect labor day weekend, but I can wait till mid fall for those :)
