"I like your bib!"

I've posted allot about my part time job.
Now its time to share with you what I do full time.
This Monday marked our first real week of Chasen and I being home together since my hours at work are actually part time this week.
Monday we went to Pathways and took a baby goat with us.
Everyone there loved it and wants me to bring it back!
Chasen also made a friend with one of the "grandpas" there and they built a farm with the Lincoln logs. We ended up staying for about an hour and a half!

I really think its important for Chasen to be around older people so he's not scared of them. I remember being like 8 or 9 maybe even 10 and I was scared of old people.
HA! Now look at me:)

I think for both of us it kinda feels like a vacation still and not our everyday routine. But we will get there.
I must say my house is consistently cleaner then it was before and I have been getting rid of so much crap that we have had laying around for years!
Its a long process but I keep making progress:) On Monday we took back loads of recycling and dropped off stuff at good will.

Today we were able to stay home all day.
(its hard for me to stay put, I want to go to the park or down by the river or the mall or the children's museum or....the list is endless!)
And we kinda worked on letters, shapes and counting, but I really think he is just to young. But I try to throw in some sort of learning into his day.
while he 'draws' Ill write number and letters and ask him to count the shapes with me. I tried to get him to let me help him draw a circle ( I read somewhere that he should be able to do that) but he does NOT want my help with anything!!

we spend most of the day role playing.
I'm usually a dinosaur, T-Rex to be exact and he is a space ship! and we run around the house chasing each other. Well, I'm chasing him because that what he asks me to do "chase me mama" then he falls down and I have to help him up and then chase him again!
He likes to help me unload the dish washer and hands me clothes out of the washer to hang up to dry.
Each day we have to make a trip outside to check on the cows and goats. Its a must, he wont take no for an answer!
And we read lots of books!

Yesterday at lunch time I put a bib on him, which is something I never do because Im gonna wash his clothes anyway so why wash a bid too.Well we were going to pathways after lunch and I didnt want to have to change his shirt so I put one on him and sat down next to him to eat and he very matter-of-factly asked me
"mama wheres your bib?"
I kind laughed and he just looked at me like he what this is serious.
So I grabbed one and sat down thinking that he was gonna laught at me and think it was funny or werid.
He just kept on eating. and after a couple of bites he looked over at me and said
"I like your bib"

It's also worth noting that Kevin (who turns 5 on thursday) is enjoying his time at home with mom as well, now he gets to be outside more.

Chasen at Work

Chasen is at work with Aundi and Sue today!
Ean forgot I had to work last night and that I would need to sleep today for at least 3 hours before I could watch chasen and then nap with him. But Ean couldn't wait at home that long before starting his work day so he took Chasen with him to work and now he is playing at the office with Aundi and Sue:)
(Aundi sent me these pics, Id say he is doing well!!)

Aundi told me that Jimmy Buffett's Margarittaville came on and he started dancing and saying it was his favorite song!
Wonder where he gets that from ;)

well Im off to sleep for a few more hours.
I usualy sleep 4hrs wake up, eat, check my email and go back to bed for about 2 or 3 hours.

Im Being Played

Work is going much much better, but it was brought to my attention last night that the CNA's are playing me because I'm new.
I guess (I wasn't paying to much attention because I was really focused on doing my job right) last night they only did 2 rounds instead of 4 and didn't wash wheel chairs.
The nurse training me sat and talked with me for quite a while about how to handle these situations and that if I don't they will walk all over me and then Ill get phone calls in the middle of the day (while I'm sleeping) chewing me out because I'm ultimately responsible for the shift and what my CNA's do or rather Don't do.

It pisses me off because its like, I don't have time as a newbie to babysit them when they have been there 16 years and know their job.
When all they are trying to do is see what I will let them get away with.
I can be somewhat of a push over when it comes to the work place and Id rather avoid confrontation.
But I guess I'm gonna have to be a hard ass which is going to be hard to do because everyone I work with is 20+ years older then me and has been there for a decade so they have absolutely no reason to respect me.
ugggh, it sucks, but I'm not really there to make friends.

Chasen is also playing me to see what he can and cant get away with, but at least he's cute when he does it:)
we tried to potty train, but he really doesn't like it and gets upset, and the last thing I want to do is make him scared of it so I'm backing off a little.
He NEVER sits still so doing any sort of structured "lesson" or craft even for 5 min is out of the question.
We do read lots of books and I play with him and try to help him learn his colors but he is pretty adamant that everything is the color "dreen."
I got a set work schedule figured out and will be working every other weekend fri, sat and evey other tue Thursday.
So I work tue, fri, sat, thur.
It works out perfect because now Chasen and I can go to story time every thur. at the library and we signed up for swimming lessons every mon and wed for a few weeks with one of my friends who also has a little boy!
I hope to take some new pics or maybe even video of chasen soon.
Life has been a little upside down around here lately.

Bowling Toddlers

We went bolwing Friday night with Shaun and Jess, their 2 girls and Brad!
I had no idea how it would work for the little ones to bowl.
I didnt know they had this contraption below---->

It worked out great! and the kids had a blast as well as the adults.
Except for the time that Chasen hit the button that makes the arm come down and then we temporarily broke the lane.
We also ate and Chasen only had ketchup

chasen was also in love with baby Brityn and was helping her all the time.
He didnt even get jealous when I was holding her, he actually said "mama tan I hold da baby" so we sat him in the chair and i sat her on him, but she is 7 or 8 months old so she was pretty squirmy so I was really holding her, but he was so happy and proud to be holding a baby.
He also kept trying to bring her her toys when she would cry and kept checking on her after he bowled.
I wish we had a little brother or sister on the way for him :/

Tomorrow is my first day at home with Chasen!
We kinda tried potty training this weekend but he really doesn't like it so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do???
We also had another baby calf

but her mom is a really bad mom and wont take care of the calf so we are trying to bottle feed it but it wont eat and its in a box in our dining room and we keep trying to feed it but I don't think its going to work. :(
Its really sad and we even bought a tube to try and stick down its throat into its stomach, but its for normal calf's, and we have mini calf's and I was not about to try and shove that tube down there and cause it more pain.
so as of right now we have a hospice bed in our dining room for our calf:(
we have also decided to sell her mom Ruby as soon as possible because this is the 3rd calf she has rejected.

In happier news tomorrow is my first real day on the job as Chasen's 'stay at home' mom!!! :)

Welcome to the real world ...

where nothing goes as expected but you still need to keep a positive attitude that everything will go better than you expected.
and thats why I married Ean, he's always positive and I'm usually freaking out second guessing myself!
The thing I hate most about being a grown up is making decisions and having only myself to blame. who doesn't hate that?

I had a mini freak out about this new job and the choice that I had made.
"what if I just made the worst decision of my life?!" ahhhh freak out!!!

but after Ean talked me down, Im feeling much better.
I think I was/am just freaking out because I quit my job to be home with chasen not to work 3rd shift, and so far I haven't gotten to be home with Chasne because he has to finish out his week at daycare.

I worked my first shift on tuesday night and it was okay.
there is alot to learn in the 5 days that I get to train.
Wed. night was absolutely awful and I cried the entire way home on Thursday morning and then passed out for about 5 hours and then Ean came home and we hung out for a few hours before picking chasen up from daycare.

The reason it was so awful was because allot of incident reports happened (meaning someone fell or had a sink tare or something of that nature) and 2 people were admitted to the hosp and there were like 10 hot charts, which means that you have to chart and do several assessments on those people.
It was so awful that the 2nd shift nurse didn't give us report and she ended up having to stay at work until 3am finishing her paper work.
I was freaking out (in my head because Im thinking what will I do in a few short days when Im by myself and this happens)
and I didn't really get to train because there was so much going on me and the nurse training me were basically trying to keep our heads above water so that we didn't have to work 10hrs.
well then at like 4am a police officer came in (set off all the alarms) and wanted to talk to one of our CNA's turns out there was an accident on the train tracks in Mechanicsville and someone in her family died. (maybe you heard about it on the news I don't feel comfortable sharing all the details on here.) we heard the 'boom' and saw police cars at around 3am but didn't really think anything of it.
So after that it was pretty much hell.
Everyone was shook up and rightfully so, these girls have worked together for several years.
So when I was driving home and had to pass the wreckage was when I lost it.
Upset about the accident, and completely overwhelmed with the work situation and thinking that Im never going to get the hang of it.

Despite feeling awful I went back to work on Thursday night and the nurse training me apologized for the night before and assured me this was not the norm. She actually said it is in the top 5 worst nights ever for her and she has worked in the ICU. She said I shouldn't have a night like that for at least 5 years :)
and she thanked me for coming back and not running away screaming, because she said that's probably what she would have done if her 2nd night working went like that.

So, my 3rd night was more normal until we had an incident resulting in sending someone to the hosp. (again) and had to do lots of paper work to cover our asses.
we didnt do anything wrong, but you've go to prove that with lots of writing so we didn't get off work until about 7:15am and we still didn't get to some of the duties that we as 3rd shifters are supposed to do like filling and such. I only have 2 days left to train so I hope we get to it at some point.
Atleast I know how to send someone to the hosp. which is something I have never done before.
There is ALOT I haven't done so I guess thats what im most nervous about.

I do like it and Im enjoying the challenge and all of the experiences and knowledge Im gaining. I just hope that I dont screw up big time when Im on my own.

The sleeping situation is going good! I get home at 7ish get chasen dressed and breakfast Ean takes him to school and I go to bed for about 4hrs, waking up at noon to eat breakfast, then I clean a little bit and then take a 2 to 3hr nap before picking up chasen at 5:30 then I make us dinner (my lunch) tuck chasen into bed hang out with ean and leave my house at 9:45pm.
I was so exhauseted yesterday morning after work that I went to bed at 8am and woke up at 3pm I was scared I wouldnt be able to fall asleep then lastnight but I did at about midnight and woke up at 8am today and feel normal!

My mom is here this weekend and I dont go back to work until Tues. so monday and Tue will be Chasen and mines first days at home:)

I added a few things to my right side bar.
A kick ass song I like listening to called Pumped up Kicks!
chasen loves it to and has been dancing around listening to it on repeat for about 6 times in a row now!
"mama look at my feet" as he marches and sings into his flashlight
after the 6th or 7th time he said
"mommy lets go da bed"

some books Im reading
black heels to tractor wheels is a real life love story by a lady whose blog I read.

Fantastic Vocation is by the pastor who married Ean and I. Did you know that Ean and I were married by a Pastor who preforms exorcisms? explains alto doesn't it?!

and the other 2 are fertility books. The one called conception chronicles is pretty funny and real the other one more serious and helpful!

Ill be posting next about Toddler Bowling and our newest addition to the caskey minis!!!
