Half a Year. Happy Birthday!

Look at my 6 month old baby!!

this is how he usually looks...just chill. Sitting in his favorite spot...Mama's lap.

He is a huge mama's boy.

he is 18lbs 10 oz which is around 70% and is

28 inches long which is 95%

he has 2 teeth on the bottom middle

and the drool just spills out like Niagara falls

loves his brother maybe more then his mama

almost crawls but has no interest in sitting up

at 6mo chasen weighed 21lbs and was 26 1/2 inches long .... he was my chunky monkey!

Dashtyn also loves his paci. which is annoying and great at the same time. I love that it makes him stop crying but I really dont like looking at him and having so many pics of him with it in his mouth.
I want to start to phase it out but it works so good....

He loves playing with his brother but gets upset when he can't keep up

 chasen says "its like air hockey"

 we have only introduced 2 solids.. squash and sweat potatoes...he doesn't really like it...likes his cereal but food's tend to make him gassy

he is doing pretty good with a cup though. He gets the cup at lunch and dinner, which is when we do cereal or other food.

the little turd still doesn't sleep through the night

he doesn't eat much or any at all when he gets up.

the stinker just wants to be held. He wakes himself up when his paci falls out or when he rolls over and then he wants mama to hold him and pat his butt.

I REALLY need to start letting him cry a little and let him learn how to soothe himself back to sleep,

I did really good "sleep training" chasen but it seems harder this time.

he has said maaa maa maaa I think mama will be his first word!

Cousins

A couple of weekends ago we were in north english and got the youngest cousins together

Nile 2 1/2 months and Dashtyn 5 1/2

garin and chasen came to after they were at the kinzie picnic all afternoon jumping in jump houses and blown up (HUGE) water slides

and then a baby wrestling match!! Its crazy to think that by christmas this could be a real possibility!! maybe even thanksgiving.....a husker hawkeye throw down maybe for the big game ;)

Dashtyn turned 6 months old yesterday....I a not sure how that is possible!!!

he has his 6mo check up on friday so more on him then!

Pool Time

It cooled off enough last week that we could go swimming...sounds crazy I know but the little dude just cant handle the heat

 chasen is a pro and loves jumping in forward, backward likes to swim with and without hIsis floaties and loves to touch the bottom!

That is Chasen's first ever official mile time!

Last sat. Chasen ran the Solon Beef Day's Mile complete with race bib and chip timer

he ran the whole thing while holding daddy's hand.

Ean said he only walked probably a total of 100 meters!

 he was nervous....you can see him biting his thumb nail. I wasnt sure if he would do it or not. Last time .... which was last year so he has grown since....he just stood there. All the people scared him and he just froze lol He saw me right after they started and tried to come over to me but ean redirected him!

 water in a bud light cup? kinda funny!

 a chocolate donut and discussing the race with dad. He wanted to know why Ean ran twice and where he went at the turn..... "why didn't you turn where we did" "I want to do the longer run next time"

 this little guys just watched....we didnt run it like we should have....mommy went out with some girl friends who were in town so she was tired!

Chasen has been really interested in the olympics.

Ean and I recorded the track and field trials and have been watching them at night while Chasen practices running in circles around the house.

ean and i only said to him "you could run in the olympics some day"

and ever since he has been running and "practicing" so he can go.

Last night I told him the Olympics start tomorrow!

He got so excited and said so I get to have one nap then I can run in the "Lympics?!!"

"No hunny you have to be the best of the best to run. We just get to watch."

"buddy you gotta dedicate you life to that stuff if you want to run in the Olympics"

"ok mom, Ill try"

That statement just blew me away!!!

I hope he keeps his determination and maybe some day Ill get to see him run in the olympics.

That would blow my mind!

meanwhile this little dude is training to be a warrior!!!

we are off to nebraska this weekend for my 10 year reunion....whaaaat?!

I am NOT that old.

Im a little nervous because I really haven't seen any one since that day in may...maybe a handful of friends Ive seen 5 times since then...crazy!

And its crazy to think that Ean and I have been together 10 years this fall....wild!!

Time sure does fly

Busy Summer

My mom came down on july 7th so Ean and I could float the river with our friends!

She stayed for the next 10 days which were filled with swim lessons, playing at the childrens museum, the park with rides, and on that following sat ean and i went to des moines to run the warrior dash and then mom was "allowed" to go home on sunday! but alyssa came back with us and went home on the bus tuesday.

Swimming lessons are done now and chasen still is no scared of the water. We swam at home last night and he wanted to swim with out floaties for a while. I had to help him of course, but I think he will get the hang of it. With the floaties on he likes to jump off the ladder backwards!!

Dahstyn loves the pool too!

This boy is changing so much, he can almost crawl...so so close get up on his knees and rocks and face plants...it wont be long

 and chasen and I went ice skating for the first time...I hadn't went since 6th grade

 we were both a little nervous but he only fell once and i didnt fall at all!!

 me and alyssa finishing!!! It was 3.4 miles of hot, hilly, tough obstacles and it only took us girls 58min lol we didn't do much running and spent a lot of time posing for the cameras along the race course:)
