Iowa State Fair

 

 On our way home from my grandparents farm we were driving through Des Moines and Ean asked if we were going to the stae fair this year.
I said no i doubt it unless we go during the week but it will prob. be to hot.
he said lets get a hotel and go tomorrow, its supposed to be cool
So, we did!
probably the most spontaneous thing I have ever done with the kids

and he rode some other rides by himself but wouldnt ride the one he had to share a seat with another kid because in his own words "im to shy"

on the way home Chasen fell asleep feeding his brother .... and you can see Dashtyn's eyes are still open! :)

after we came home from our long adventure is when I noticed the cut on kevins front leg/shoulder and he had to get staples 2 days before I left for Syracuse to see Kirsten.
Poor Kevin. He just got the staples out yesterday. He his happy to have the cone off!!

Swedburg Farm

The second weekend of August was our annual trip to Axtel Nebraska to my Grandparents Farm! Its a 7(ish) hour drive so we only go once a year.

 one minute dashtyn was wide awake and literally one min later he passed out. He was so tired with out his morning nap!

 we had an amazing feast!! Steak, cheese potatoes, egg plant Parmesan, baked beans, fresh veggies, yum yum! :)

we celebrated Ean's and my Mom's birthday with amazing cake and home made ice cream that was so so good I ate so much I literally had to lay down I was so full :)

Still behind ...

So the first weekend of August we were home and enjoyed the weekend at Bluesmore Mansion in cedar rapids.
They were having a Blues festival.
we took the boys and had a great time! :)

That was the last weekend we were home. This weekend we will be home!!
I am beyond exhausted. to much traveling, and not enough sleep. Baby had and ear infection so was up ever 1 to 3 hours for a few days, then his allergies were bothering him, and now he is getting teeth on the top and wakes up every 2 hours for orajel and rocking and cuddles from mom.
I know it wont last forever and Ill miss it some day....but I need sleep because Ive had a tension headache with nausea for 2 days straight now!! (nope not pregnant...thank god. that would totaly stress me out!)

 this was the event that chasen said he had to go pee and ean said ok. turned around to follow him and he already had his pants down to pee. hadn't peed yet but when he yelled NOO it startled him and he fell down butt in the air infront of hundreds of people!

It really was a good time though.
Im always amazed at how much fun we can actually have with the kids at adult events!

 someone was having trouble getting off the starting line....

 

we were actually home one sunday afternoon and I told ean I wanted to go on a run...alone.
but he didnt want to push the kids either so we went to the track where we could all run!
Chasen loved it and ran a mile total.
then ean to the kids to DQ while I ran to DQ then I sat with Chasen while he finished his ice cream while Ean ran home!
It worked out great and I got some awesome pics!
