Football Has Begun!

the second games of the season we were in nebraska for my grandmas birthday

I love going home to watch husker football with my family!! 

Nothing feels more like home then that!!

Husker Cousins!!

we were trying to teach dash how to throw the bones! 

he does chicken wings lol

 they spent a lot of time swinging...thats Ava and Dash on the glider

 and on sunday after church they went up on the roof while Ean and my uncle used my grandpas new saw and cut some branches!

 Last weekend my sister was down and we took the boys on the hawkeye train and tailgated with the Seaba crew!!

 we went and watched the game at sutliff... sad loss to iowa state

but a beautiful day! 

 we came home, made a fire played some hide and seek....

dash loved it!!

Kevin...is the worst at hide and seek. he can find you and gives your spot away by standing right by where you are!

 we got dressed in our husker gear for the 9pm kick off

I stayed up the latest--of course- but had to finish the game in the morning!

This weekend we did the 5k to kinnick and tailgated in the stadium and parking lot! 

more on that later. we watched some of the hawk game at old chicago and then listened to the rest.

that night Nebraska played Miami at home at 7pm!! 

we had our Hawkeye friends over to cheer on the huskers 

it was an amazing and historic game. 91,000 people in attendance and boy could you hear them!!

we watched the game in larger then life fashion!

 and of course worked on throwing the bones!!

Last couple weeks

so we are into week 3 of Kindergarten now

but the first 2 weeks dash and i kept busy we try to do 2 activities a week with other kiddos and do plenty of things on our own too!

if we dont go somewhere he is asking for his friends and one week we only did one thing and he woke up from nap crying for his brother. "I want to go get my brudder" but I think he has adjusted now!

we went on a cupcake play date, 

to the childrens museum

we did some swimming after school with "brudder" (the pool is now closed :( )

and they have plenty of fun together when chasen gets home, but they fight more then before....I think because Chasen is tired and Dash is ready to PLAY and pushes chasen's buttons :)

we love going to the trampoline park!

and we go to story time every thursday -- he loves it! 

lately we have also been busy running errands for dad which means lunch dates!

we also went to the imagination station and hy-vee was hosting a homemade pizza snack!

so we had a tortilla pizza and a watermelon pizza

Chasen is loving kindergarten!

It was all about Chasen day at school and he was to decorate a bag and bring 3 things,

he drew our house with him in the window and our cows.

in his bag he put a 5k medal his favorite race cars and a picture of his family.

I still miss him....but he came home one day and just snuggled up next to me!!
I said "hey!!!! you are snuggling me!! YOU miss me!!"
he just smiled. He's the best :)

one thing chasen didnt like was centers, in preschool he just got to play with what he wanted 

and on the first day of Kindergarten he came home and said he didnt like that he had to do all the centers.....but he is getting used to choice time now.

they have PE on mon and wed and library on thursday...his first book was a 4 chapter geology book that we are still reading! :) He has spanish and music on tuesdays ...he came home one day and said mom I learned spanish today!!

we learned hello and goodbye

hello is "O la"

and goodbye is ... well, I can't remember!

he brings home tons of papers ever day. they are working on numbers and counting and letters a-j 

below are the numbes he was learning to write and he came home and said mom I did it first with pencil then again with marker. he said they didn't ask him to do that he just did......which has me thinking he could be and over achiever like his dad was in school!

We started soccer last night. 

so, we are pretty busy!! all the time!

Ean's Birthday!

We celebrated Ean's birthday on Friday and Saturday.

He woke up to a table full of gifts on Friday morning!

Some of those gifts were added around 2 in the morning when Chasen woke up and started putting things on the table like two pennies and his Hawkeye action figure that is broken.

I got him a goat to stick in the yard from fuel coffee shop in mt vernon

it seemed appropriate! :)

he also got movie "tickets" to a back yard movie of his choice will all his favorite candies, popcorn and blue moon beer! 

before he left for work he had to read a few pages out of chasens 4 chapter geology book

that night grammy took the boys home with her and ean and i went out for sushi, his choice!

we went to north english and met up with the boys who were waiting with cake!!

saturday morning we did a mud run outside north english, which was really fun even though I ran it by myself! which i dont like to do.

the boys had fun rolling around and playing with Garin!

we left pretty quick so we could get home, shower and meet Brad and Julie for the Hawkeye game!

after the game Ean and Brad went golfing and Chasen, Dash and I went home for the husker game and naps!

we were well rested and ready for dad's bday supper, cake and movie!

we watched spider man with the cats!

on sunday we hung out at home until it was time for sutliff cider and then had a fun evening in mount vernon at a friends house.

and monday we went to the circus!!! 

a busy fun birthday, labor-day weekend!

Still trying to do an update on the boys new routines with school and dash being home with me :)
