Birthday Festivities

It all started thursday, we let him (for the 2nd time) open up the train table and trains we got him!
Then Pep and Steph came over as usual to watch Greys and gave Chasen a football truck and play smart phone which is cooler then my actual phone.


I wasn't sure how to "wrap" the train table!

HAPPY "BIRTH" Day

2 years ago today I was terrified of being a mom

( I hate this picture of me, but I love it because it totaly depicts what I was felling....uhhhh, he's mine, and he's crying, now what do I do!?!)

and of this little guy!
I loved him before I knew him, but I was still scared.
Now,
Its not so scary any more.
I feel like Ive got the hang of it!

I look at those pictures of him as a baby and I remember feeling so scared and overwhelmed and unsure of what to do.
I remember once everyone left and it was just me and him I would just stare at him like, okay now what. just waiting for something to happen. Always on the edge of my seat. Checking on him all the time.
Is he still breathing? Is he still there? Still mine?

Yup! He is:)

Now,
Im so much more relaxed.
He talks to me, tells me what he wants.
we have conversations about school,snuggle while watching mickey mouse, which he calls "hot dog" because of the song.

I remember thinking my house was so loud and there was so much going on.
Now I know how quiet it actually was.,

NOW my house IS loud.(sreaming at he top of the stairs!
And when it isn't loud I know something naughty is going on!


2 years ago I never could have imagined the love I would feel for him and the way he would change my world!

when i asked him how old he was he said 2 months lol don't know where he got that!?

A Hawkeye Weekend

Friday night we went to the Hawkeye Volleyball game
chasen had a lot of fun. and he kept his eye on herkey (the mascot)
I think he was kinda scared of him because he come up from behind us to give chasen a high five!
Chasen gave him a high five but he didn't seem to sure about this sketchy character!
And he would spot him from everywhere in the arena.

He also enjoyed popcorn, for dinner. It happens sometimes.


we stayed for all 5 matches. and the hawks lost :(
Chasen behaved really well and only go in trouble for eating popcorn (that wasnt from us) off the floor. GROSS!!

YAHHHHH! GOOOO HAWKS!



Saturday we took Chasen to ride the Hawk Express to tailgate the football game
Im pretty sure Iowa is the only team that has their own train!!

He was so excited to ride the choo choo.

When we got to the tailgate Chasen played Frisbee with a stranger.
he is not shy at all
He also saw a guy in a hawk "cowboy" hat and kept pointing at him saying
look, cowboy, wow!
so I told him to go give him a high five. and he did!
He walked up to him tapped his leg and stuck his hand out, the kid looked around like ummm whose kid is this lol
I explained to him that Chasen kept pointing at and talking about the "cowboy"

I had to lift up his shirt on the train because there was a guy in a husker T-shirt. They're everywhere I tell ya!

he was more excited for the ride home because I think he understood more what was going on and that he was actually on a train!

FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL

Thats all we do this time of year on saturdays and unfortunately chasen has learned how to yell at the TV and say dam it!
but we have fun!
Last weekend on Friday was cornell homecoming and the Zuccarelli's came down so Britton and I left the boys at home with their dada's and went to the Phi-O alumni party!!

we didnt get home until 2am
and then me and my family got up at 6am to head to Neb. for the Texas game.
Traffic was awful and all 3 lanes of I80 were only going like 20mph and this is who we pulled up next to.

I would have rolled down my window to "exchange a few words" but I had my kid in the car ;)

but we must have pissed away all the "magic" because it was a disappointing loss

after the game we had a dance party in the garage!! left over from Ava's 7th rock star birthday party

This saturday the roles were reversed, we stayed home and tailgated the iowa game, Iowa lost and NE won.
time will only tell what next weekend will bring both teams are hosting some good, hard competition, missouri and Mich ST.

Kitties and Leaves

A couple weekends ago we went to cousin Garins house and the boys drove the (toy) lawn mower,
played with kitties

and jumped in leaves!

The Apple Orchard

A couple of Sundays ago we went to wilson's apple orchard, we didn't get to pick any apples, but we did eat apple turnovers with cinnamon ice cream and walk among the apple trees.
we also go to ride on the tractor which was chasens favorite thing!!!
and it went over the creek!

This Friday Chasen's day care is taking a field trip to the Bloomsbury Pumpkin Farm and Im lucky enough to get to take work off and go with them!!
One of those moments where you really get to feel like a mom.....
I get to chaperon my first field trip!!
