Water Baloons and Water Guns, Oh My!!!!

It was actually "cool" enough to go outside yesterday and play. The humidity was much lower!!
So I filled some water baloons.
Chasne didnt know what to think!
First he just held them in his hand and popped them!
Then I told him to Catch

then we had fun throwing them at eachother!

and when we ran out of baloons we filled the water guns and shot at eachoher, hiding behind trees and on the porch!

It was a good summer afternoon!!

Summer Fun

Sunday night we went to the Jackson County fair and Chasen got to go on his first fair rides. He was a little scared of the motorcycle, he was leaning a little to much
and the car made his tummy feel weird lol


we also got watch some cars race and some combines run into each other until they fell apart. I shut my video off right as one of he big tires on the combine popped!!
chasen loved it!




we didnt stay very long as it was 1,000 degrees and I started to not feel well.
Its a good thing we left because even in that short amount of time I got dehydrated and had a horrible headache the rest of the nigh and half the following day.

Unfortunately I think that means we wont be going to the Iowa State Fair this year unless it cools off.


On Tuesday Chasen's cousins were down from Northern IA so we met up and went to the Partee-zone in iowa city.
The kids ran non stop for 3 1/2 hours!!

Just Chasen

So I haven't really made a post about Chasen and the things he does.
I used to post the new words he would say or new skills he has mastered
but he does so much all the time now its kinda passed me by

so ill try to document some new things!

- He can consistently hit the baseball with his bat and no Tee
- can draw a circle
- sort of knows his colors
- Knows that P is for poop and papa and F is for fart and fork-lift
- he can name 80% of the construction equipment/trucks in his book that names over 100 trucks
- knows the names of several dinosaurs "long neck" "T-rex" "triceratops" "velociraptor" "brachiosaurus"
- can go on the potty when he wants to. Is getting much better and stayed dry for an entire day then the next day decided he wanted to ware a diaper and cried for his diaper. *Sigh*
- tells me on his own "mom I love you" "I love Kevin to" "and daddy too"
- Thinks the baby is in my boob and at a restaurant pointed to my boob and very loudly said is that your baby? I said no. and the couple across form us almost died from laughter!

and he plays make believe all the time. It's so cool to see what his little mind is thinking

Over heard tonight:

I work in a Dr.
I take care of people that are mad
I give them kisses and hugs and nose kisses too.


Mom, I work in a Dr. are you sick?
"yes my toe hurts"
he looks at it and says
I can click the nail for you
and he takes his pen and clicks it on my toe and says
all better!

and he doesn't listen to ANYTHING I say EVER. He always says NO!

A Weekend Home

We stayed home this weekend and the only thing we did was go the Traci and Jesse's wedding!
It was good to get to see all of our friends, I haven't hung out with anyone in weeks since I haven't felt great.
Chasen didn't get to see all of his friends and this was the face he gave me when I told him Alana wasn't coming


But he did have fun running around with Ryan and eating approximately 1,000 mints and 2 pieces of cake.
when he wasn't running around he laid like this and then got stuck.

Sunday we slept in watched cartoons then lots power so we went outside to watch the storm roll in and chasen played in the puddles.



chasen has really been into "hooking up" Kevin and taking him for walks.
Kevin is thoroughly annoyed by this new activity because chasen has to hook him up himself and it takes forever and involves lots of tugging on Kevin's collar.

Baby's First Concert

while I was in Nebraska I went to the red sky music festival with my family and we saw BTE (Better Than Ezra)
It was a great concert despite the 110 degree heat.
I almost didn't go but I was only out in the hotness for about 2 hours and was actually in the shade.

Baby is 12 weeks today. Im still sick when I dont take my meds but other then that nothing new to report!!

A Busy 2 Weeks!

13 day's ago we stared a whirlwind of travels and visitors.
On Friday the 8th we left for Kansas, Ean and Jordan were headed to a concert.
Britton and Jordan had just moved into a new house so on sat we (I laid around with the kids) built a fence and unpacked a little. It was great to see them and their new house, not sure when we will get to visit them again as Britton is super busy with residency :(
Then on Sunday we got home around 8pm and my mom arrived shortly after. She came down to watch chasen for me on the day I worked since day care was closed.
She also cleaned and cleaned my house THANK YOU MOM!!! I also had my Dr. apt while she was here and that's when I go my meds so now I can clean my own house:)
Mom was supposed to leave on Wed or was it Thursday? Alone.
But, I found out that I had to work Thur fri sat and didn't have a sitter for Friday so my mom took Chasen with her!
I worked 3 days in a row which was harder then I thought.
Yes I know most people work 5 days but despite the fact that I work 3rd shift I'm not on that sleep schedule I just gut it out for a day or two. So I was very tired which made me queasy!
I had already planned to go to Neb on Monday for a concert so my grandparents who were on their way back from a wedding in ILL swung by and picked me up and took me to Omaha! Where I met up with my long lost snot nosed baby:)

Ean drove down Tuesday and went to a concert with my siblings and we left this morning landing us home around noon today!
I work tomorrow then we have a wedding this weekend then I think we are gonna hang out here for a while!
