there is a park in iowa city that is perfect, its along the river, has a nice wide, smooth running trail, swings, slides, monkey bars,

carnival rides!!

this is a replica of the hawkeye train that runs to the football games. There was only one seat up front and I told chasen that dash and I would be riding in the back if he wanted to sit by us he had to sit back there, but he choose to sit up front and would look back and wave at us around every turn. It was so cute. He is becoming such a big boy!!
The people running the rides had to help him on and into every ride cause i was holding dashtyn and chasen didn't seem to mind. although Im sure he would have rather had me do it he let them.

of course this all happened a couple weeks ago

Im currently on vacation as of 2pm yesterday I dropped the boys off in des moines with my mom and they will stay with her till sunday!!

I didnt waste any time, as soon as I got home at 4 Amy came and picked me up and we enjoyed some quality time on her porch with some beers and a fire, painted our nails and chatted.

It was grrrrrreat! Ean came around 8 to pick me up and hang out talking trucks and roofing with dan;)

today im folding probably 10 loads of laundry, getting my hair cut visiting kasi and her baby girl, cleaning the pool and going out to dinner with leigh!

and sat ean and I are off to des moines to celebrate 6 years of married bliss:)

Can't Keep Up

I can't keep up with the blog and our adventures, milestones and pictures!

We have been spending a lot of time outside playing and having picnics.

Dashtyn is awake a lot more now days and wanting to play with his big brother and get frustrated that he can't reach everything he wants.

I hate to tell him its only gonna get worse cause as soon as he is moving around im sure big bro will take his stuff.

The other morning I had tried everything, fed him, fresh diaper and clothes as he drools constantly. I tried playing with him, pacifier, teething gel, everything.

Finally I asked chasen to come over and talk to him. and that was it, all he wanted was to see his bro and play.

His favorite thing to do is to get in his stand up saucer thing and watch chasen play!

Dashtyn loved the pool so much

We had so much fun this past weekend. It was a short trip, we didnt leave till 6:30 on friday and got there at midnight and Chasen stayed up the entire ride telling me a story about the time he went to North America and rode a Long neck dinosaur. I asked him if it was a dream and he told me no, mom it was when I was an adult. You weren't born yet. You were with God.
Okay then :)

The boys had fun riding the school bus and thomas the train, they also had other play stations and a jumpy house, they had a petting zoo but the boys were starting to melt down so we headed home. Jordan and Ean got to ride home with marshall and chasen. and they had a screaming contest!! Britton and I rode with the sleeping baby :)
the rest of the weekend was spent in the kid pool, and grilling in the back yard catching up with our friends!
We can't wait to do it again:)

The Pal

a couple weeks ago we hung out at the pal with Amy, the river is so low you could go out really far! We had a picnic and took a hike and all on a Wednesday because Amy works nights!! Its nice to have people to hang out with during the week:)

4 Month Stats

Dashtyn had his 4 month check up on Monday

He weights 16lbs 4oz and is 26.5 inches long
he was 75% for weight and 95% for height

we did have to switch formula, the Dr was concerned about him having only watery stools and not clay like consistency.
He isn't sick though and isn't dehydrated or loosing weight so she said not to get worked up!

we made the switch on Monday and have had 3 messy, sticky poos!!! and less frequent spit up, still a lot of volume when he does spit up though.

i dont like tummy time!

he can roll from his back to stomach. has been able to do that for a while now, but he hates when he rolls and gets stuck on his stomach. His arms get in the way and he can roll back to his back.
He did scoot backwards while on his tummy today and turned in a half circle all to reach a toy big bro was playing with.... soon, to soon he will be on the move and into everything.
He is so squirmy and wiggles and kicks his legs all the time and grabs at anything you have in your hand!
Don't try eating with him on your lap unless you want to ware your food!!
