19 month's & Adventures in Potty Training

my sweet little boo boo

the week before preschool started he was pulling his pants off to pee and even once poop on the floor.

So I decided that we would start potty training the day chasen started school.

and dash was really excited, I said want to go potty and he ran to the bathroom and I held him on the big potty and he peed! 

and he did this several times that day.....still had wet diapers but was excited to go

and the next day same thing, except we couldn't be as consistent because i ran out of milk and we had to head to the store.

so on friday we tried again and this time I saw his poopy face and we headed to the toilet

and I held him while he sat to have his first (big) poopy!!!

he was NOT excited and the sensation scared him

I think having gravity work in his favor rather then sitting on his poop as he pooped literally scared the poop out of him and he has NOT been interested in the potty since :( :(

and if I pick him up he clings to me like he is scared, so we are taking a break!

in other news he has taken big brother going to preschool very well, 

we play and are trying to do more 

focused activities like reading and singing abc's or drawing but he pretty much likes to play and be loud :)

he isn't much into talking

Thank you--ank quuuu is a new word he uses

and when he doesn't have his serious face on its his full teeth big mouth scream or smile! 

First Day of Preschool

almost a week ago (last week on wednesday)

Chasen had his first day of preschool

he goes everyday from 8:10 to 11:10

there are 18 kids in his class, one teacher and 2 assistants

this is how he wanted to pose :)

Ean  was able to come with us on the first day!

we walked him in helped him find his name and hang up his bag, get in line to wash his hands and we were off!

And Chasen was good!  

Dashtyn didnt want to leave the playground area! 

I walked Chasen in the next couple of days and now I drop him off and he walks in!

It still makes me really nervous.

I called Ean the first day I dropped him off ......"what if he didnt make it in" "they would call me right?!"

so much to worry about but every time i pick him up he tells me he was fine!!!

he also tells me lots of stories about playing on the playground, new names, so I know he is making friends! 

and the first "picture" he drew was the names of everyone in his family "mom" "dad" "chasen" and he didnt know dashtyn's name, so he must think about us a little ;)

Ring-bearer

Last weekend we had Brad and Julies (no Mr. & Mrs. Robison) Wedding! 

Chasen was the ring security!

when he first was asked to be in their wedding he told me he didnt want to be a ring bear but a ring camel. Then he decided he just wanted to be one of the "guys" since most of the guys in the wedding were our friends and the dad's of Chasen's friends that helped a TON!

Friday afternoon we had the rehearsal and I went with both boys, which wasn't so bad but I was sweating by the end!

friday night Dash went to Grammies so Saturday afternoon I could help with Chasen

but first Saturday morning we went out to brunch just the 3 of us...it was so nice to have that one on one time with Chasen....then it was naps and off to pictures

Chasen was seriously so good, smiled and posed what ever way she told him to

he didn't get dirty, whine or cry. 

He didn't even complain!

and he kept the rings safe in their box! {the rings were not in the box at this time}

Grammie showed up with Dashtyn before the ceremony so we could get some family pictures :)

and Chasen introduced Dashtyn to the bug he had been playing with all afternoon

I caught Chasen putting the bug in the ring box

"mom I have a surprise for Brad and Julie!!! I bet it makes her scream!"

so he wasn't a saint all day, but hey what can I say...

I told him NOT to scare the flower girl with it, but she wanted to hold it!

he made it to the front nicely, even putting his arm out and walking with Laney and ran the last few steps to dad

it was a beautiful ceremony 

Chasen completed his job and handed off the rings

and walked nicely out 

Then it was chaos time

Dash was all over the place the whole wedding yelling dada and yaya

he didnt understand why he couldnt be with them

we tied him to a chair to eat cake and that gave us peace for a little bit!

Grammie left around 10 with the boys and Ean and I got to stay and hang with our friends!

Us mom's clean up pretty good Id say ;)

Visit to the Farm

2 weekends ago the kids and I drove (ean had to stay home) to alyssa's apartment in omaha for a swim

 before taking her with us to 

spend the night in Valparaiso at my moms and got up in the morning and went to the farm and on sunday I did the full 7.5 hours back with the screaming munchkins.

It wasn't so bad but defiantly not fun ;)

The fun part was getting to see family and playing at the farm.

Grandma had the pool set up for the kids and even though it had sat in the sun Dash thought it was to cold to get in but had fun throwing rocks in it

 we measure the boys every year and then had grown a lot! 

 Chasen and Ara had fun catching frogs and Dad said Ara took one home and it's still alive! 

 it was pretty gross to me! :)

 we had fun on all the motorized  things!!

the gator was a favorite

the combine, which I had never been in one so I got in it too!

 and the corn.... teaching Chasen about irrigation 

  I had dash in his swimsuit but he didnt want anything to do with the water

but as soon as he had clothes on and the sun apparently warmed up the water he got right in! 

  Chase and Ara climbed ontop of the garage roof 

and naked swimming after i thought he was done swimming

 smelling the pretty flowers before dinner

We come out here every year in august and my grandparents make an amazing dinner out on their patio....steak, cheesy potatoes, beans and homemade ice cream! 

I had gotten  dash dressed for dinner 

and after...he got in the pool in his clothes AGAIN! 

It was a great visit! :)

we got home and the week that followed was busy with a preschool orientation on wednesday and preparing for a wedding with rehearsal on friday, Chasen as the ring bearer and ean the best man!
