First Day of Kindergarten

today was THE day!!

my baby went to Kindergarten :( 

:) but he was so ready

 in fact, right after i took the photo below I whispered in his ear where the bathroom was and then stood up and said well I guess we better go...love you....*silence*....love you .... "mom get outta my space!" "ill color you this bus picture and maybe it will run into you :)"

 --- okay sweet boy, love you too!!!

first thing he said when I picked him up was

"mom i knew THOUSANDS of kids!! kids from soccer and wrestling and i saw jayden and alex and mason! so many kids!"

he thought he was having cold lunch (which i told him twice that he wasn't) and he put his name under cold lunch and then couldnt find his lunch bag "mom everyone had ninja turtle a lunch bags and i kept picking them up but they weren't mine. "it was the worst"

we held our trays and we went through the line and they put food on it and they asked

do you want pickles and i said no because I thought it would take the french fries off because i thought the french fries were pickles..but they were french fries. so i got the french fries that i actually thought were weird pickles but  I DIDN'T GET PICKLES!! and i wanted pickles. The french fries were just like blowed out and looked weird. and all i wanted was a pickle in that spot! :(

so lunch was a little stressful. and he only ate in his words "a half, no probably a quarter" of his hamburger. one bite of cheesy cauliflower that was "absolutely the worst" and no fruit because he doesn't like pineapple.

he said they read 3 books and that he shared a story at share time. 

he said they stood in front of the class with a microphone (?) 

he talked about Missouri ---"my uncle and dad were on the fishing boat" 

 (i was NOTnot gonna say harry and lloyd) hahahahahaha!!!

and we were on the pontoon. 

"mom kindergarten is so complicated" we have to stand on our spot all the time and I got letter M. 

she wants everything perfect. I couldn't cut out my bus picture. and my pencil box has to stay at my desk

and then we have quiet time. and we have to remember tomorrow where our quite spot is and we have to go there everyday!! There is no way Ill remember.

and in our quiet spot we have to have the same toys and we can't get up and play with anyone.

it is NOT like preschool. 

{in preschool he played with toys all the time ...the toys he wanted and they didnt make him go do the craft or whatever else they were doing. so its a change for him.}

after out Kindergarten debrief...

"mom i need to go be a magnet to the tv..i just need some quite time!" HA!!

despite it being complicated ;) he had a great day and really didnt seemed bothered by all the "complications" he is excited to go back!

best smile he's ever given me!

we keep having discussions about lunch and how he needs to at least try one bite of things that are new to him. like the cheesy cauliflower...and he tried it and i told him i was so proud! but he needs to work on eating all of the main course...he said he didnt have enough time.

tomorrow will be the first full day. and dash and I are busy running around all afternoon on a house closing so it wont feel like a real full day to me.

I did find out today that Dash is wayyyyyy different without his brother.

we got home from drop off and I started to unload the dishwasher and got out the kids' dishes and said Dash can you put these away (he ALWAYS SAYS NO) and he said yah ...and put them away. then we had 20min before we needed to leave on our cupcake play date! and he wanted to watch mickey mouse and I noticed his dirty jammies on the floor and asked him to put them in the washer (he usually says no, or i can't or my tummy hurt) but he got up and did it.

I can't wait to get to know this side of dashtyn!

I find with big changes like this in my kid's life Im always nervous and sad to see a milestone pass, but my kids always show me the way and what to do next! 

I dont know why I ever worry ;)  (future self: read this!)

The end of summer

The last week and a half we have been trying to do some fun things and to spend as much time cuddling on the couch as possible before Chasen is in school all day!
on wed we met up with the campbell boy's and went to the  fossil gorge at the dam and played and had a picnic. I was to busy hiking and pulling both of my boys and their shoes out of the mud to get pictures!

Thursday me and the boys went to the Natural history museum and saw lots of animals and a stuffed sloth!

after the museum we walked around and went hunting for Herky, there are 80 or so of them around town

 

 

 

 

 

then we had forzen yogurt before heading home

I dont remember what we did friday... ean worked late and came home with a pontoon boat!!

Saturday we ran a 5k in tipton and went to the parade in swisher with our friends!

Sunday we woke up early and had the pontoon out on the lake by 8:30 we didnt want anyone else there as we tried to figure out how to back it down in and have me pull the truck up to the parking lot all with the boys! we spent the rest of the morning driving around

we got out and explored some rocks

ate lunch and took a nap

then the kukuzkes called and we picked them up and boated the rest of the afternoon!

Monday we were exhausted and possibly had a little sun poisoning from being out all day sunday
so we did this all day! and drank lots of water!

mon, tue and wed night chasen had vacation bible school!

He was really nervous about it, but when i picked him up he was so excited to go back and was full of stories!!

on wed i took dash to the park while chasen was at bible school and he fell off the swing and hurt his face!

but wanted to get right back in the swing after he cried for a bit

thursday i took the boys to story time (something dash and i will start doing every week)

he was quite unlike last spring when we tried to go

but he couldnt sit...he rubbed chasens hair most of the time :) 

also on thursday chasen said Mom we never dyed my hair this summer

so i found a packet of Kool Aid and dyed it blue! It didnt last to long but he liked it!

on friday we had breakfast at the skillet cafe 

then swam with friends at the pool, dashtyn loved it and wasn't afraid of the water at all!!

then friday evening we left for nebraska (more on that later)

monday and tuesday we just hung out at home playing, snuggling and today we swam.
TOMORROW I will officially have a kindergartner :( :(
So happy for him though!! and so proud!

Silver Dollar City & Heading Home

we woke up earl-ish on the last day packed up, cleaned up and headed to silver dollar city

chasen and lily are so cute

the first ride we rode was the log ride.

poor dash was tall enough for almost all the rides so we took him with us on it!

I say poor dash because he had no clue what was coming...just thought he was on a leisurely boat ride and then

BAM!! his world dropped out from under him.

and the little muscles in his long arms

poor thing!

he didnt cry though... we asked did you have fun "no." 

wanna ride again? "no too scary"

these guys were right behind us!

mom and lisa crack me up...and grandpa with his backwards hat!

 

so the next ride was a roller coaster with 2 very small hills...but it was dark..
fire in the hole!!

ean rode with dash and me with chasen!

dashtyn and ean hated it and were done riding anything remotely thrilling after that!

I was surprised that even though the first 2 rides were scary for dash he still never said no to getting on any other rides...he must really trust us!

then we took chasen on a real roller coaster.

now, i thought it was gonna be a mild coaster...no huge drops...my sister is a liar!!

chasen was in line crying that he didnt want to do it so we said ok, but explained that he had to stay inline and walk through the seat and out...

well when he got up there he decided to ride...him with my sister and me with lily

it wasn't until we got in the cart that you could see the HUGE hill we would climb...i started yelling at alyssa that i was gonna kill her!! it was awful (and fun) but it had 2 huge drops and went really fast! 

chasen said he kept his eyes open the whole time...i closed mine the whole time!

my legs were shaking after we got off...needless to say i didnt go with them on the upside down rides.

my grandpa took Lily on all the other crazy roller coasters!

i would have went on the others if id had more recovery time...but we still had to drive home.

so me, lisa, mom, granny, ean, chasen and dash went to ride other rides!

 

we rode a boat that held 6 and had water guns that you shoot at people...

but people also shoot at you!

im not sure who had more fun, ean, lisa or chasen?!

ean is SOAKED

then we rode another boat that had lazer guns that you shoot at targets and it adds up your points

  

and the silly house that made me really sick...yuck!

and we rode the lazer shooting gun ride..again!

we also rode the water raft tube but can't find the pics

dash passed out! about 30min before we left

we left the park around 1:30 for the 8hr drive home 

dashtyn choked on his spit started coughing and threw up about 45min into the car ride.

so our car smelled like the inside of the spiny apple ride at the carnival (sweat, plastic, pee and metal) with a touch of vomit and the occasional poop cloud!

other then that it was an ok ride home!

all in all a great vacation that i can't wait to do again!
