We spent the day before your induction like any other day! It was trunk or treat at church
and then Chasen had XC practice that night.
We all went out to dinner that night with grandma at the brewery in solon I had the best comfort food, tater tot casserole!
we went to bed early since I was to call the hospital at 5am.
Alyssa was driving up that night and got in around 10pm, she poked her head in our bedroom to say good night and the next thing I know Im being woke up by her and my mom laughing really loudly in my bathroom.
I thought that maybe only 20min had went by since she poked her head in my room, and I was pissed they were being so loud and woke me up when I needed sleep, THEN I heard the shower turn on so I looked at my phone it was MIDNIGHT!!!!
what the hell!!
I yelled at them "what the hell are you doing?!?!?"
to which I heard "Chasen shit his pants!!!"
I hit Ean tell him what happened, naturally he rolled over and moaned.
So I rolled my very large self out of bed and sure enough
it smelled AWFUL!!!
my thought was you have got to be shitting me (no pun intended) my kid has diarrhea...no, explosive diarrhea the night before my induction.
Thankfully my mom and sister had the situation under control and I tried to go back to bed.
Praying that Chasen was just maybe nervous or anxious, but i knew better.
4:50 came real quick after that and I called the hospital and they wanted me to come in around 5:45.
that only gave us 30 min to get ready, I mean we were packed but I needed to check on my sick boy and decide what to do with him, I checked his temp, no temp and he hadn't had any "episodes" the rest of the night.
I told my mom and sister I would leave the decision up to them since they would be the ones in charge of him at the hospital.

We got to the hospital, late at 6 but it was ok.
they wasted no time starting my IV (fluids and antibiotic) and hooking me up to the monitors.
She missed my vein and my hand started to swell, Ive never had that happen before and I have really good veins. naturally, I was mad at that nurse, even though she was nice, and I was glad for shift change at 7am!
My dr came in and broke my water a little after 7 and started the pitocin.
I have NEVER had so much water it soaked up my back and down to my socks, my new awesome nurse had to change my bed 4 times!
This is worth noting because we were all really sure I was having a large baby but after the 4th bed change I was pretty sure there was no baby just water!
it was about 8am when i started to have some contractions and the nurse decided to call the epidural guy which i thought was a little early but im glad she did because 2 women came in in active labor and wanted their epidurals and I was 4th in line. But I got it after only having to feel a couple strong contractions! And it was the best epidural Id had, he was so quick and it worked (dashtyn's didn't work 100%)
Joellyn showed up around 8, trista a little after and my mom, sister and the boys around 9:15
Chasen came and didnt get sick, but did ware a mask.
I hung out for a few hours visiting with family, answering questions from Dash.
He was really worried about me which was super sweet. He did not like the IV in my hand.
around 11:30 I started to get sick, not flu like, I always puke in labor thats how I know its time to push!
My Dr came in and checked me, 9cm 100%. almost time.
I kept dry heaving :( and I started pushing around noon.
This time alyssa and my mom were in the room with Ean and I and we did face time grammy and trista in the waiting room ... we just face timed my face which im sure was lovely. HA!
I pushed for 15 min (which is long for me) and nothing was really happening.
He was sunny side up so my Dr turned him and had me sit for 10 min to let him descend some more and give me a little rest.
So the Dr. say's ok Im going to leave and let you set for 10 min and Ean says Im gonna go get a pepsi.
and I said....well I said nothing.... I just looked at him (you know the look) and low and behold he stayed by my side skipping out on the pepsi. :)
She came back and I pushed for 30 min and he was born at 1:04pm
Jett Floyd
8lbs 3oz 21.5 inches
Alyssa took a video right as he was born (not the labor stuff) and she managed to capture the biggest sigh of my life.
This was the longest journey of my life. I needed that sigh. I dont remember doing it but Im glad she captured it because I dont think I would have realized how much I let go of in that one sigh if I hadn't seen this. I feel like I can see all the anxiety, worry and pain leaving my body.
Ive never felt so thankful for something in my life.
I know thats not fair to the other boy's but I didn't know true loss when I gave birth to them.
I feel like this sigh was me letting go of a year and half worth of uncertainty and worry and pain
Jett doesn't replace the loss of our angel baby but he does restore my faith and hope and brought me much needed peace!
Not to mention he totally made all those IVF treatments worth it!!
Getting his foot prints
meeting baby Jett for the first time!
They were so excited
everyone left to go to lunch and Ean and I had 2 hours alone with Jett.
He nursed right away like a pro.
and then he had a bath while I tried to stop puking...I dont know what my deal is with that!!
first bath
everyone came back from lunch and hung out for a while
unfortunately Chasen had another episode because someone was taking to long in the bathroom at the gas station AND Dash tried to pee by the car in the parking lot and peed all over the inside of my sisters car. He had issues pointing the right direction!
My sister defiantly got a taste of what life is like with my boys. Id say this was an extreme situation but not that out of the ordinary :)
I felt so bad for Chasen because it was really important to him to be there when Jett was born. He had been nervous about our baby making it here and coming home with us.....so although I know he shouldn't have probably been at he hospital we were extra cautious and I dont regret him being there at all! Call me crazy ;)
the grandmas!
Dash was very excited to give Jett his lovie.
Jett started crying and dash goes "is he gonna die?!"
I had to explain to him that babies cry all the time because they can't talk
and he said "well does he need some water or a cracker or something"
then I had to explain that he could only drink mom's milk!
Dash really wanted him to open his eyes and look at the lovie!
it felt just like we were at home :)
they all left around 6 and I spent the night cuddling
this is the best tank top ever has a pouch for baby!
Jett was and still is a very mellow baby, doesn't cry much ... grunts a lot!
we had trouble waking him for feedings in the middle of the night.
Being the third baby your birth story included a lot of other people's stories as well, but it just couldn't be any other way, I have no doubt that you will love all the chaos that surrounds you :)
