Vegas: Behind The Scenes and Untold Stories

oh my gosh where to start.

first a little behind the scenes traveling with 3 kids. I was SO nervous, because sometimes Jett cries and there is nothing you can do but he did great! and the other 2 did good too. 

First thing I learned is that traveling with open liquid(the bottle)means you will get searched.

and then I used pre-made, sealed liquid formula that I bought in 8oz containers, which was nice because I didnt have to mix a bottle it was ready to pour which meant he didnt cry! :) 

 BUT because they couldn't open and test it me, Jett and the bag it was in all had to be searched, patted down and tested for explosives. It took a long time!! 

I wore Jett through the airports and they didnt make me take him out which was nice.

and Im glad I wore him. I thought about using the stroller and Im glad I didnt because in Vegas we had to take a shuttle bus and I would of had to take him out of the stroller, fold it up, store it and get it all out again! We bought a stroller that had a 5 position recline which was nice because Jett was in it all day so it 

helped that he could sit up and lay completely flat when he fell asleep.

we also needed to buy a stroller bag to check it at the airport, well stroller bags are like $20 and hard to find so Ean got a deluxe lawn chair for $30 and we used the bag as a stroller bag!! 

another Genius idea was from our stewardess .. we needed a cooler for the bottle and she put together 2 puke bags and filled them full of ice and it worked great, i used it the whole week we were there and it never leaked! I was going to buy a small cooler and fill with ice everyday but this worked great and took up less room in the stroller. we didn't have a fridge in our room($20 a night.NO THANKS!) so we had to use ice everyday for the bottles. I used ziploc icicle bags to prefill with powdered formula so we were able to take 5 or more of them while we were out the whole day and only made what he drank so we didn't have to keep stuff cold if we didn't need to.

 when we got on the plane to come home I quick grabbed 2 puke bags and put them together and held them till the stewardess walked by and realized that people around me probably thought me or one of the kids was gonna puke.... oops!!

we also had to bring all the car-seats but we got an inflatable bubble bum booster for chasen, this was awesome as it saved on the amount of crap we carried through the airport! and it really worked....i was skeptical but it was sturdy and has clips so the seat belt stays in place!

we also called ahead to see if we could get a crib.... they said no with the size of room we had (2 queen beds) it was a fire safety hazard ??. So we went to target and bought a rock-an-play that plugged in and rocked all night!! It was awesome and we returned it before we left :) 

 we also bought snacks, fruit and PBJ so we ate breakfast in our room each day and had PBJ for kids when we were out and about and even packed a picnic lunch one day!

Now for some untold stories.... these are great!

driving to the Grand Canyon, we got a little lost and it took an extra 45min. so when the kids finally fell asleep we didnt stop and enjoyed the view and silence

 until we were 10 min from the entrance and Dash wakes up and says "uhhh guys, I have something to tell you that you dont want to hear" He peed his pants and I didnt have any extra clothes so we pulled over and hung the underwear and shorts out the window to dry. It wasn't soaked. car seat was dry.I told Ean we need to remember to take it down before we pull into the park.well, we forgot and pulled up to the entrance and roll down the window the guy asks if we have any alcohol or explosive.
I look over to tell him no and see the pants and underwear hanging there.
I died!!! and it was right by the parking lot so hundreds of people saw it too!!!
We were still laughing about it the next day!

2.)I dont remember which day but we came back to the hotel to nap and dash was in the bathroom and I noticed he was in there a while and told Ean to go check. He had poop smeared all over the floor. apparently he went poop and got off the toilet and a turd fell on the floor and he was trying to clean it up without us knowing and smeared it allllll over. his underwear went in the trash and we used all the wipes to clean it up and he had his second shower of the day. 

3.) another night we were at a restaurant eating and a song came on that reminded me of our 2 cats that died, and I said something to ean and dash started bawling and then chasen started bawling and they cried about our dead cats for 20min. --- the cats died a year and a half ago. It got to the point where Ean and I were laughing at them they were being so ridiculous. 

4.) alcohol is your friend, in moderation of course, hangovers are not recommended with kids and neither of us had a hangover ever. we probably had 2 or 3 drinks a day, total. But while at the indoor theme park one day Ean offered his seat to a mom with a baby and she said thank you and reached in her stroller and handed him a can of Michelob ultra .... hey us parents gotta stick together :)

5.) we went to Fremont street where the kids got to see lots of characters, one of them the minions which Dash decided to punch!! and the guys said "ok you gotta go now" ... oops ;( sorry! not sure why he did it, I dont think he knew a person was in there or that he did it to be mean...either way we had a little chat after.
