VH1's WORST WEEK EVER.....Featuring: ABBY CASKEY

Monday: leave work early due to impending blizzard, get on the road just in time for the snow to stop and all is clear. There was no reason for me to leave early. Now I have to come in early (by choice) to make up the hours

Tuesday: Flat tire 5 min after leaving work, ean is an 1hr or so away and daycare closes in 45min. I drive the car to a gas station close to my work try to pump air in it...wont work so i leave the car there walk to work in -10 temps, Ean gets Chasen at 6:12--they don't make us pay the late fee, ean gets me at work around 7pm changes the tier and we drive home.

Wednesday: Another 7 inches of snow has fallen, I'm now driving the jetta which gets stuck at the end of the driveway Ean has to pull me out and then I continue to drive to work in the freezing blowing coldness. I'm 10 min late to work

Thursday: record breaking low temps occurred over night actual temp -29 wind chill -48.
I'm supposed to be at work an hour early.
6:10am i go out to start the jetta--its dead. wake ean up to jump it he tries till about 7am to jump it, it wont start.
I'm supposed to have left by 7am to get to work by 8am.
Ean gets the Chrysler out (the car that got a flat and has a spare on it) the back tire is now low he tells me to drive it to Lisbon to put air in it, I get there and the thing is completely flat i fill it and decided that I'm not going to drive this to work and risk another flat with the baby in the car and temps at -23.
So i call into work and go home, i tell ean I'm not driving that to work and settle in for a long cold day at home, around 8:30 ean comes in and informs me that I'm going to work he has to go to Iowa city so he will follow me to work take the tire off and take it to get it fixed. His truck wont start to he has to dig the other car out of 12 inches of snow.
I get to work and hour late at 10am.
Get a call from mercy at work that chasens insurance didn't cover his birth and that we need to call the company and ask them if they will go back and cover it, if not i need to ask my ins. if they will cover it otherwise its a $2300 bill.
I make it home from work safely, but Kevin had another seizure, he came out of it okay but it still really sucks.

FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all's well that ends well.....right.

well it is 20 degrees warmer today then it was yesterday and today its 6 degrees

2 month Stats

Chasen had his 2 month check up today and shots.
He was all happy then 2 nurses came in with the shots and stuck him in the legs and he SCREAMED!!!! but not for to long.
Chasen's Stats:
13lbs 4oz
23 1/2 inches
he is in the 75th percentile for both!
What a big boy :)
He is also eating almost 30oz of milk a day!
When I took him back to daycare today they assured me he wasn't horrible yesterday and that the other new baby cried all day long and wouldn't eat, so at least he isn't the worst kid :)

that pretty much sums up motherhood!
and it doesnt have to be the first smile it can be any old smile :)

well today was the dreaded day...
I took Chasen to daycare. :/
It wasn't so bad, dad came with to see his little boy off on his first day out into the real world.
I think what is hard is knowing I'm missing so much. Friday I came home and Ean had a video of Chasen on his phone of him playing with/grabbing at his first toy.....I almost died :(
The hardest part was picking him up...I got the daily report and they said that he cried allot (with 3 underlines) this afternoon and nothing helped, he doesnt like his crib and he has a great smile---that was their report along with feeding times and diaper changes and sleep times.
He didnt sleep much (20min at a time) and i think its because at home he has a nice soft wedge thing he sleeps on
I cried the whole way home because I felt so bad that he had such a bad day. And because he smelled like daycare.
This is why I didnt call them while I was at work cause I didnt want to get all upset at work. I think it will make it even harder to drop him off tomorrow :/
THIS SUCKS!!!
We took another trip this weekend to Minnesota for a wedding and Chasen got to meet aunt Kirsten and som more of mommy's friends.

He loved all the light and noise and was up untill midnight!
Kevin enjoyed the hotel room and pooped on the floor lol.
we made it home okay on sunday through another slick drive.


oh, and Chasen turned 2 months on sunday....my how time flies by.

Happy 2009 From the Caskeys!

My mom has been here all week to watch Chasen while Im at work. So she was able to babysit Chasen while Ean and I went to the 3 finger Saloon in Lisbon with Britton and Jordan where it was all you can eat and drink for $30 except for when we got there at 11pm no one was taking money at the door so we drank for FREE!! It was so much fun to get ot hang out with the Zuccarelli's again :)


Both teams won!!!

Since Chasen has been born both the Hawks and Huskers have one every game...so maybe thats a good sign for next season.



well IM packing up the car today to head on our next adventure.
A wedding in MN, we are taking the dog and the baby...eek!

ps. Chasen played with his first toy today.....and I missed it :/
