Chasen is 7!!

Because there was a good possibility of chasen getting a brother on his birthday we didnt have a big family party we just had several small parties as people came to visit us and the his new brother!
On his actual birthday it was just us and he was so excited about the star wars legos we got him!
we had a party with Grammy
and a party on halloween with Granny, Grandpa, Lisa and Lily
a party with aunt Lissy
and a party in the hospital with grandma
poor Dashtyn was upset that we kept having parties for chasen and wanted to know why we werent doing his birthday. So we sang to him a lot and family did get him some big brother gifts, but I was feeling bad for the "middle child" we will have to do his birthday big!!

And in mid october we had an obstacle course party with his friends!

Ean set it up and they started in the front yard, climbed the fence, carried small logs
ran up the hill through the tall grass
flipped some tires
threw a ball into the big tire
 to the monkey bars
and onto the wall
then ran some more through the field and
finished by popping a balloon full of candy!
then they played soccer and kickball
and they were all so good with Dash, letting him play even though he didnt know the "rules" and they always included him.
and I can't even tell you how many times kevin got hit with the ball and he didnt even move!
after that is was cake and snack time!
i ordered an edible picture of chasen and also ordered the cake, I always make their cakes but just couldnt this time.
I had snack mix, gatorade and make your own caramel or chocolate apples on a stick
then he opened gifts and they played outside with his new toys until their parents came!

I can't believe I have a 7 year old!
He just gets more amazing each year. I love watching him grow!

Jett's Birth Story

We spent the day before your induction like any other day! It was trunk or treat at church
and then Chasen had XC practice that night.
We all went out to dinner that night with grandma at the brewery in solon I had the best comfort food, tater tot casserole!
we went to bed early since I was to call the hospital at 5am.
Alyssa was driving up that night and got in around 10pm, she poked her head in our bedroom to say good night and the next thing I know Im being woke up by her and my mom laughing really loudly in my bathroom.
I thought that maybe only 20min had went by since she poked her head in my room, and I was pissed they were being so loud and woke me up when I needed sleep, THEN I heard the shower turn on so I looked at my phone it was MIDNIGHT!!!!
what the hell!!
I yelled at them "what the hell are you doing?!?!?"
to which I heard "Chasen shit his pants!!!"
I hit Ean tell him what happened, naturally he rolled over and moaned.
So I rolled my very large self out of bed and sure enough
it smelled AWFUL!!!
my thought was you have got to be shitting me (no pun intended) my kid has diarrhea...no, explosive diarrhea the night before my induction.
Thankfully my mom and sister had the situation under control and I tried to go back to bed.
Praying that Chasen was just maybe nervous or anxious, but i knew better.
4:50 came real quick after that and I called the hospital and they wanted me to come in around 5:45.
that only gave us 30 min to get ready, I mean we were packed but I needed to check on my sick boy and decide what to do with him, I checked his temp, no temp and he hadn't had any "episodes" the rest of the night.
I told my mom and sister I would leave the decision up to them since they would be the ones in charge of him at the hospital.
our last photo 39 weeks
We got to the hospital, late at 6 but it was ok.
they wasted no time starting my IV (fluids and antibiotic) and hooking me up to the monitors.
She missed my vein and my hand started to swell, Ive never had that happen before and I have really good veins. naturally, I was mad at that nurse, even though she was nice, and I was glad for shift change at 7am!
My dr came in and broke my water a little after 7 and started the pitocin.
I have NEVER had so much water it soaked up my back and down to my socks, my new awesome nurse had to change my bed 4 times!
This is worth noting because we were all really sure I was having a large baby but after the 4th bed change I was pretty sure there was no baby just water!
it was about 8am when i started to have some contractions and the nurse decided to call the epidural guy which i thought was a little early but im glad she did because 2 women came in in active labor and wanted their epidurals and I was 4th in line. But I got it after only having to feel a couple strong contractions! And it was the best epidural Id had, he was so quick and it worked (dashtyn's didn't work 100%)
Joellyn showed up around 8, trista a little after and my mom, sister and the boys around 9:15
Chasen came and didnt get sick, but did ware a mask.
I hung out for a few hours visiting with family, answering questions from Dash.
He was really worried about me which was super sweet. He did not like the IV in my hand.
around 11:30 I started to get sick, not flu like, I always puke in labor thats how I know its time to push!
My Dr came in and checked me, 9cm 100%. almost time.
I kept dry heaving :( and I started pushing around noon.
This time alyssa and my mom were in the room with Ean and I and we did face time grammy and trista in the waiting room ... we just face timed my face which im sure was lovely. HA!
I pushed for 15 min (which is long for me) and nothing was really happening.
He was sunny side up so my Dr turned him and had me sit for 10 min to let him descend some more and give me a little rest.
So the Dr. say's ok Im going to leave and let you set for 10 min and Ean says Im gonna go get a pepsi.
and I said....well I said nothing.... I just looked at him (you know the look) and low and behold he stayed by my side skipping out on the pepsi. :)
She came back and I pushed for 30 min and he was born at 1:04pm

Jett Floyd
8lbs 3oz 21.5 inches
Alyssa took a video right as he was born (not the labor stuff) and she managed to capture the biggest sigh of my life.
This was the longest journey of my life. I needed that sigh. I dont remember doing it but Im glad she captured it because I dont think I would have realized how much I let go of in that one sigh if I hadn't seen this. I feel like I can see all the anxiety, worry and pain leaving my body.
Ive never felt so thankful for something in my life.
I know thats not fair to the other boy's but I didn't know true loss when I gave birth to them.
I feel like this sigh was me letting go of a year and half worth of uncertainty and worry and pain

Jett doesn't replace the loss of our angel baby but he does restore my faith and hope and brought me much needed peace!
Not to mention he totally made all those IVF treatments worth it!!

Getting his foot prints
meeting baby Jett for the first time!
They were so excited
everyone left to go to lunch and Ean and I had 2 hours alone with Jett.
He nursed right away like a pro.
and then he had a bath while I tried to stop puking...I dont know what my deal is with that!!
 first bath
everyone came back from lunch and hung out for a while
unfortunately Chasen had another episode because someone was taking to long in the bathroom at the gas station AND Dash tried to pee by the car in the parking lot and peed all over the inside of my sisters car. He had issues pointing the right direction!
My sister defiantly got a taste of what life is like with my boys. Id say this was an extreme situation but not that out of the ordinary :)
I felt so bad for Chasen because it was really important to him to be there when Jett was born. He had been nervous about our baby making it here and coming home with us.....so although I know he shouldn't have probably been at he hospital we were extra cautious and I dont regret him being there at all! Call me crazy ;)
the grandmas!
Dash was very excited to give Jett his lovie.
Jett started crying and dash goes "is he gonna die?!"
I had to explain to him that babies cry all the time because they can't talk
and he said "well does he need some water or a cracker or something"
then I had to explain that he could only drink mom's milk!
Dash really wanted him to open his eyes and look at the lovie!
it felt just like we were at home :)
they all left around 6 and I spent the night cuddling
this is the best tank top ever has a pouch for baby!
Jett was and still is a very mellow baby, doesn't cry much ... grunts a lot!
we had trouble waking him for feedings in the middle of the night.
Being the third baby your birth story included a lot of other people's stories as well, but it just couldn't be any other way, I have no doubt that you will love all the chaos that surrounds you :)

38 Weeks

Well we are actually past 38 weeks but I had a couple appointments.
at 36 weeks we scheduled my induction for 39 weeks exactly (which is monday)

at my 37 week appointment I was measuring right on but the Dr thought i should have an ultrasound to determine his size any way and that he was head down. He some how managed to flip on me that week and was transverse which hurt!
so at 38 weeks I had an ultrasound and the first thing we saw was that he is indeed a HE!
she measured him and we saw his face a little bit but then he turned and all we could see was the back of his head, and his cute little ear. He does have hair! But we didnt get any pictures of him. Which I was ok with, I told Ean when we went in I wasn't sure I wanted to see him, I mean they can get such good pictures these days I kinda want to wait!

she said he was measuring 38 weeks 2 days which is exactly what I was, she said he was about 8lbs but that they could be off by a pound or more and she said I dont think its off on the lighter side ;)
Im still going with 9lbs and a few ounces!
The next day i had my appointment and was 2cm dialted and have gained a grand total of 20lbs the most ive gained being pregnant!
and today we painted the belly, a pumpkin just like we did with chasen

and here we are, sure have grown a lot!
Just 2 more sleeps till we meet our Boy!! :) we are all so excited and can't wait!
I should mention Chasen has been so cute, he has been nesting and just buzzing around the house cleaning things and picking up stuff. He even cleaned out his closet today and cleaned out the car.
We didnt ask him to do any of it! Such a good helper!

36 Weeks

Had my appointment today and I am 1.5cm dilated!!  Which is awesome in terms of scheduling an induction. Last time with Dash I was 4cm when I got to hospital for the induction and had him within 5 hours of the meds starting so Im hoping for an outcome like that again!
Baby boy is measuring 37 weeks and is head down!
forgot to ask what ive gained but i think its 15lbs which is about the same as the other boys so he might not be a 10 pounder ;)
Mama is ready :)
I went in on monday to labor and delivery to have them check him out. Ive never done that before but sunday night he barely moved and monday morning wasn't moving. i drank a huge bottle of ice water and ate a Popsicle (which usually makes him go crazy) and he barely poked me 5 times in one hour.
usually he is alien like in there and his movements are strong!!
So i went in and his heart rate was good, took about half hour and he started to move, not like i was used to but he did move more. they monitored me and him for an hour and said all was well.
Dash and Ean were with me and I think it was good for Dash to see where we will have the baby in case we go in before gramdmas can get there to watch the boys Dash might feel a little more comfortable with a nurse or social worker for a while having been there before.

I still have heart burn, insomnia, really sore stomach muscles and several braxton hicks contractions a day.
Im so ready to have him here. safe. healthy. and here!
Even though Im beyond excited to have him here, I still think of how we should had a 1 year old this week .... that feeling will never go away. And is certainly not over looked or forgotten about in this extremely exciting and happy time in our lives. I know it will make his birth so much more emotionally charged then any of the others and I am certainly anticipating that moment!!

On top of all of that it did hit me this week, when Dash was really sick and Chasen was really busy with activities, that we are about to be out numbered and our zone defense is gonna have to step its game up!!! I also realized that we are going to be pulled in all sorts of directions and Ill have to get used to missing events to stay home with a sick kiddo or miss cuddling a sick boy who wants his mama so i can take another to his events.... not an easy choice!
Not only will we be out numbered the rest of our lives but out numbered by BOYS! clever, sneaky, sweet, stinky, loud, busy, loving, boys!!! :)
I have no doubt that we are NOT ready for all that but that is okay :)

and don't even get me started on the sleepless nights and reintroducing my self to toting around the diaper bag, im still in blissful denial about all of that ;)

and some photos, Ive never done a maternity photo shoot, this was as close as I got to one this time :)
34 weeks

and this pictures cracks me up! again at 34 weeks

just for comparison
36 week snuggles
now we wait.......     :)

25 Weeks To 32 Weeks

I am behind on posting but really not much to update, below at 23 weeks I was feeling great puking had stopped and I wasn't uncomfortable!
25 weeks below taking a selfie at swim lessons!

and here we are at 30 weeks
at 30 weeks my nausea came back and I had a whole day of vomiting right before my appointment and I had lost a pound and was dehydrated.
But baby boy is obviously growing!
we made our last trip back to Nebraska as a family of 4!
and 32 weeks
just 2 weeks later I had gained 3lbs for a grand total of 11lbs!!
and baby is head down!
and he continues to move like crazy!
He actually hurt me the other day, the other boys never did that so he must be preparing for all the wrestling around he's gonna be doing!
I continue to have insomnia and have to take half a unisom a couple times a week so I can get some sleep. If not I'm up from 3 to 5:30.
I'm starting to have Braxton hicks alllll the time.
I had 6 in one hour the other night, it was a little concerning even though I know its not real labor.
Now it's just the waiting game!!
