we didn't set an alarm and I woke up first at 8am!
our hotel had so we went and ate then got ready for our day of train rides, rock city and ruby falls.
the first train ride was an old railway at a train museum so we were able to walk around old train cars while we waited for our train to arrive.
the boys mostly just liked sitting and throwing rocks!
I was loving the weather and flowering trees!
the train ride was about an hour long and we got to stop at a working railroad and watch then put the train onto the spinning circle to change directions.
they also took us on a little tour through the shop where they restore the old trains, the boys got a little restless but Ean and I got a little restless, it was cool to see and know that the money we paid or the tickets was going toward restoring the trains for this not for profit company! the one train they restored took 10 years to complete.
the ride took us over 4 bridges which chasen was excited and a little nervous about
here is the spinning track they turned the train around on
Dash really like the choo choo ride :)
then we went to lunch at a place on our way to look out mountain
I ended up ordering ribs and chasen ate half of them--I was happy to find something other then mac and cheese to order him:) thankfully he didn't like my sweet teaso I didnt have to share that:)
So look out mountain is the place that sparked this whole trip in the first place, when ean and I went to florida in january we drove through here and I fell in love, its so beautiful and I really wanted to go to ruby falls (an underground waterfall) and I knew this would be a place the kids would love too. I just didnt think we would be able to come back so soon, but Im glad we did! Now, ean and I didnt do anything when we drove through we just literally drove up the mountain so everything we did was new to us too!
On look out mountain they have the incline railway, rock city and ruby falls.
first we did the incline rail way which we had to drive by the bottom of the track to get there and we showed it to chasen and he was saying how he was so scared he didnt know if he could do it,
"ill just have to face my fears" he talked about it the whole drive up!!
going down!!
it was a slow ride so not super scary
dashtyn kept saying "pooky" which means spooky. he says that when he is scared or anytime it is dark
eeeek!
and this is what it looked like when we got to the bottom and rode back up
next we were off to rock city!
